We have co-slept since DS was born, the whole time on a queen mattress on the floor. He is 26 months old. Since he was about a year old we have been sleeping "sideways" on it, so that our feet hang off the end! But with DS squirming all the time, it's the only way we fit.
We are expecting #2 in January.
Anyways, we now have a bit of extra cash and are thinking of a King sized bed. But, we don't want to put it on the floor, as we want to actually have it last many, many years! But, I can't quite wrap my head around co-sleeping on a high up bed. If you did it, how do ensure baby doesn't fall out (I'm nervous about bed rails and little ones getting caught). When they are mobile, how do they get in and out without falling? Can older toddlers climb in and out of bed okay? What do you do for naps?
I'd love to hear some experiences of how it all went for other families!
