Just wondering if there's anyone else living in a developing country where diseases like polio are still alive and well, killing and crippling children every year (well mostly killing them) and good medical care is limited to one clinic and one other doctor in the whole country. If there's anyone out there - what have you done/do you do for your children regarding vaccines?
I'm living in Central Asia and have two kids - 4 and 2. Both are now caught up on vaccines (with a few additional ones - ie: Typhoid) but we are beginning to explore the possibility of having another baby and I'm curious what other moms in my position have done/do.
Don't want it to sound really dire here - we don't always have electricity or running water but my kids are doing great - lots of playing outside in the dirt with other kids - and there's oodles of moms and kids to do life with here, much simpler in a lot of ways than our lives in the U.S.
I'd love any thoughts.
Thanks!
