Wanting to explore Austin and the surrounding areas. We have found a lot of great stuff to do outside but need inside suggestions for rainy visits. My kids are up to age 10.
Are they into indoor inflatable places? There is Locomotion and Hoppin' House, both in South Austin. The Children's Museum is downtown and a lot of fun. Memberships are relatively cheap, and if you got one, it would be a lot more economical if you wanted to visit on a regular basis
Oh, how I wish you needed suggestions for rainy visits. We're in the middle of a crushing drought of record and we'll be lucky if we see an inch of rain all summer.
That said, the Children's Museum is really cool, though a 10 year old might be a bit too old for it. The Nature Center has a cool indoor area.
