Online or digital calendar recommendation needed please!

So the hubster and I are in dire need of a calendar system whereby we can plug our iPhones in and sync our calendars. We tried Google Calendar (the free one through GoogleMail) and it is not working for us. First of all, it does not automatically add in his appointments to my iPhone when I sync it. But it also doubles all my appointments, meaning it adds into my iPhone what is already there, so every appointment is entered twice on the phone ~so annoying! Plus, we don't like how each of us has to have a separate calendar on Google. DH is an IT geek, and even he finds it too complicated. We want ONE family calendar that can be synced with our phones.

So, I need recommendations. What online/ digital calendar does your family use? DH and I both enter our stuff into our iPhones, and we just need to be able to plug that in and add it to the online / digital calendar as well as pick up the added dates from the partner's calendar into our phones. BTW my iPhone is the old version, but DH has the newer one (sorry don't know version #s right now)

We use Cozi, and I love it.  I don't have an iPhone though, so I have no idea how it works with it...

you get a calendar that syncs over the internet with your macs ical app and whatever Apple devices you own ( iphone, ipad, ipod touch, macbook whatever). Plus email, contacts and cloud hosting of files and a place to host albums of photos and videos online that is password protected separately so you can share it without whoever you want. It's not free but I have found it really useful. Especially the wireless calendar sync. I can add an appointment on my iphone and it shows up on my mac and my ipad automatically without needing to sync it in itunes. It also syncs your safari bookmarks across devices and the contact list syncing is sooo convenient.

Would this also work if my hubby has a PC? Or could he sync his phone to my Mac too?
