Why yes it was my birthday, Ryleeee, thank you for thinking of me! :) And I can't wait to see that chubby little doll! So happy you're through it!
Evergreen, I remain amazed by all you mamas that are working while doing this...! And I promise you the baby will come out eventually. :) Lol!
Becca, sounds like you guys really did have a great wknd! I got all teary-eyed when we did our Last Dinner Out As The Four of Us... and then we've had dinner out a couple of times since then. :D But hey, we're in the middle of a move, you know how that can be. :)
Thanks for sharing about Ryleeee, Elonwy!! Can't wait to hear more details!
L&K, I wish I had something like knitting to keep me busy right now...
Camprunner, I'm starting to know what you mean. As big as I am, when this kiddo moves, it's been making me gasp lately with how intense it feels!
Gwendolyn and Cerise - now I'm starving! That sounds SO good...
Well... I thought things might be getting real on my birthday.. started having some intense and painful contractions that night, but they weren't at all consistent and went away. And now they're doing it again, so I'm thinking that's just the new pattern for warm-up. I REFUSE to get all "oooh.. maybe today!!" again, my brain just can't handle that! LOL. Dh is not able to get home tonight from his first real trip with this company, so obviously I will NOT have this baby until he does, sometime tomorrow morning. By God. I won't pack for the birth center either. I know where this baby's stubborness comes from, you know! :) I'll pack tomorrow morning and bring the birth center stuff with us tomorrow morning, though, essentially guaranteeing nothing will happen, of course. After all the planning with that apartment so close to the birth center, I'm on my own with the kids, 45 minutes away in our house for the 2nd night! And really not concerned about it... just longing for eggplant parmesan. :) Mom will be here tomorrow, and I managed to do some laundry and sort through some too small stuff with the older kids today. Got lots of flats and prefolds and wipes and nursing pads from Mom all washed and ready to go, so yay for that.
My big gift yesterday was my nephew and his girlfriend making it through the tornado in Joplin, MO. They were both at work. Their apartment was essentially vaporized - it was on the third floor and there is no third floor on that building now. Their cat hid in some closet downstairs and survived it - yay for smart kitties! They're just so grateful to still be here and together, they're handling things pretty well. It always seems like something you hear about happening so far away, and while MO isn't close, my nephew sure is! He's only 12 years younger than I am, and I babysat for him so much as a teen, plus he looks like me! We're the rebel redheads in the family. They're not sure if they'll even stay in MO now, and they hadn't been there long, but I can't blame them. His girlfriend is from CA and she was having a hard enough time adjusting (they moved there for her job) before this happened, and her company would work with her on moving back to Colorado. I just wish I could do more for them from so far away!
I thought there would be more babies here after missing a day! I guess it's past the point of more of us having had them than not? Crazy!
