hope you relax enough on the day so that your enthousiasm for speaking french will win over the examiner and that any small mistake will just pass with the flow and not appear sticking out too much ...
Â
did you ever get "the right type " of levure de biere that you were specifically looking for a while back ?

this week I'm trying to declutter a little bit more ... but I find myself more reading about the subject on the computer than actually taking the plunge.....

salut les filles! i just found this section of MDC, and i wanted to introduce myself. i'm a "yankie" by birth, but i've lived in 8 countries and tend to think of myself as more of a "citoyenne du monde." i've been living in Paris with my French partner since late 2009, and both of us are TTC. i'm feeling a bit hopeless and frustrated about it all at the moment, as we're older gals, and because of the laws of this country, we have no access to any kind of reproductive medicine. DP keeps telling me "don't worry, we're going to fuck the system and have our babies," but i'm not feeling so positive about it these days. i'm also wondering if either of you (or anyone else on this board!) have any suggestions for making friends here.

as for specifically local topics... does anyone think we're going to get a less conservative government in power next year? it would be great to get full marriage rights, the right to adopt, etc etc.... and i don't think any of that will happen with sarko and company in power.Â

Bellabaz -- so did you rock the DELF? how long have you been studying French? i came here as an absolute beginner but studied at the Sorbonne for about a year and a half. i can understand nearly everything, but i find that i'm super super shy about talking...evening with my DP. any suggestions for getting past that? and also what kind of levure de biere were you looking for? (we have two different kinds here at home...)

Hello nosreves,
Â
I'm an American stay-at-home dad here in Paris. My wife works as a scientist and she had our son while in Paris. We found a wonderful english speaking doula, but had some trouble finding the right midwife (mostly because of date of birth). Anyway, we had a wonderful home birth and things wen't well--so you can do it!

So sorry. Been all over lately. So I didn't exactly rock the DELF but I passed. I did eventually find some levure de biere, but then stopped using it cuz dd2 wasn't likin it. I am not so shy about speaking French. I mean I totally accept that i have a mad accent and make mistakes but its more mot really meeting people. Can't really improve if I have noone to talk to, ya know =). But it'll be fine. I arrivedin France 2 years ago but spent the first year at home with a babe and toddler so no lessons. Then I started lesson last Sept and tehy lasted until the end of May. Right now I am in Milan doing CELTA to teach english in hopes of finding a job one of these days. We shall see. This is hte last week of the course. Its been awesome.
