Cat vs. Gnomes.... Help!!

Our cat has taken a real liking to our gnomes, we find her taking off with them almost daily. She has succesfully stolen 2 gnomes from the nature table, we have no idea where they are and have checked her usual hiding spots, the kid's are sad and getting po's at kitty. Our only remaining gnome has gotten her pigtails ripped out of her hair, and the stuffing shaken out of her hat....

What do I do to get the cat to leave the gnomes in peace?! DH suggested a "gnome house", but I'm not sure where to look, and I'm not positive she can't get to them.

Are the Gnomes stuffed with real lambs wool?

If so, your cat most likely  loves the smell the of the natural wool, I had the same problem.

So I made some felted wool cat toys stuffed with lambs wool, some with cat nip and some without and she then had her own toys.

When it's not incredibly annoying it can be very funny, I admit that. The kiddo's have made a game of it now actually, where the kitty is a friend of trolls and likes to capture and be mean to gnomes, and gnomes must steer clear of her until a fairy can intervene....

At least this has inspired more creative play, and imaginative games.

Nothing to add here except that your kids sound amazing. Too cute!  I hope you find a way to keep your gnomes safe from the curious kitty. good luck!
