wow, born at 43 weeks!  That is impressive.  How big was she at birth?

9 lbs 15 oz, so basically 10 lbs- a perfect size for me. thumb.gif

I feel very lucky to have been planning a homebirth where my MW didn't even bat an eye at me going past 42 weeks (as long as babe and Mom were healthy of course).

My SIL is actually in her 42nd week right now- I am beginning to wonder if it is genetic.  lol.gif  She is also planning a homebirth and trying to patiently wait for her little man to choose his birth date.  It is very difficult mentally to be so past your EDD.  I personally thought it was harder than my 40 hours of back labor.

aprilfools, my dd was 10 pounds at birth, too.  we were only a few days past the edd though.

i'm cautiously saying hellow.  i've had 2 losses since ttc child number 2.  feeling optimistic about this one though  :)  and very determined to be happy through the pregnancy.  dd was a rainbow baby too, and i found it hard to be happy through the pregnancy rather than stressed.  not gonna do that this time.

dd is 19 months and i think the due date for this one will be around the 9th or so of feb.  i'm really so very excited because we've been trying for a sibling to dd since she was 9 mos old.  i'm still nursing her too, and hopefully planning to tandem if we can make it through.

also hoping to have a vbac this time.  waiting to see how the pregnancy goes before really focusing on that right now, though.

no symptoms except for sore boobs and excessive fatigue.  i also seem to be having problems with caffeine.. i need more but it makes me feel funny so i've cut down.  boo.

having bloodwork done on monday just to see how things are going...

Saying hi, cautiously. I had a miscarriage at 10.5 weeks in December and was devastated. This was our first cycle TTC again, on Clomid, doing Acupuncture, and TCM herbs. I was convinced that I didn't ovulate this cycle, so I called my doctor and I have a full bottle of Provera at home! I tested yesterday because that was when I was supposed to start the Provera and I was feeling nauseous, and it positive! I am kinda freaked out but trying to stay positive. I'm going to listen to my Pregnancy after Miscarriage hypnosis tonight, hopefully that will help the nerves.

My DH actually told me that I was pregnant and I didn't believe him!

My LMP gives me a due date of Feb 9 and my suspected ovulation gives me a due date of Feb. 12, so for fun I'm saying Valentine's Day. winky.gif

Symptoms are general low grade nausea, mouth watering, and fatigue.

Hildare! I have to say Im excited to see you here. Congrats on your BFP!

Congratulations, everyone!

I just got my first BFP today! This will be my husband and I's first child, and we are ecstatic. A previous physician questioned if I had PCOS for years and my husband injured his reproductive parts in a bad motorcycle accident two years ago, thus I was pleasantly surprised to get a BFP after just two months of trying. I was pretty convinced that we may not be able to conceive naturally.

According to my cycle, I should be due around Feb. 9. I had an early BFP (5 days before expecting my period). I haven't been feeling quite right for a day or two so I thought I would give it a shot today! SO excited!

Unfortunately there are no birthing centers where we live, so we have decided to go with a midwife program through a local hospital. I definitely want a completely natural child birth experience, and strangely that is probably what I am looking forward to the most with this pregnancy.  I guess a better call the midwife tomorrow! :)

Cautiously dipping my toes in here. My name is Jennifer. My partner is James. We have two children ages 8 and 11 from my previous relationship who we share custody with their dad 50/50. This will be James first baby. We've been ttc since April 2010 and had two losses, one in November, one in March. I am worried, but there is nothing I can do but wait. EDD is Feb. 7

Looking forward to spending a good, happy, healthy nine months here.

hi! My name is Misti...I have 4 children, Nicolas (11), Noah (8), Shelby (3), and Aiden (7 months). Aiden was born in Korea last October...he was supposed to be my home birth baby, but when I went to 43 weeks, I went to the Army hospital in Seoul to have my water broken...I was almost 5 cm when admitted, and he was born 2 hours later...completely naturally, monitor free, and on my hands and knees in the hospital bed, lol...the staff didn't quite know what to make of me and my team of doulas, lol...This time, we're going to have a home birth for REAL. Not sure yet if my husband will be here, but we'll make it work either way. Super nervous about having 5 kids, I feel like I have lots of kids already, but I guess it's true what they say, your heart and home will make room for one more, always. My 8 year old was just diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in February, so we're still reeling a bit from that and learning how to take care of him...we're a busy bunch, but we have love to spare :)

Hi everyone!

I'm super excited to be in a DDC after being on MDC for so long... This is an IVF baby, our first, and I just got the positive blood test results a couple of hours ago.

Due date is February 10th - am currently giving this little zygote direct orders to stick! stick! stick!

Hi girls!!

I have a 19mo old son who was born at 38w4d and am due now on Feb 6th. I suffered a miscarriage in Jan at 5-6wks so I'm nervous to be here. I am still nursing my son who is a frequent nurser (5-7 times a day) and one who wakes all night long. I know my OB told me I couldn't nurse past 20wks but as long as progesterone levels are good I will. It's very encouraging ot see so many moms who have nursed while pregnant!!!

I used a midwife with the practice last time but the midwives have now left so I don't have that option. I'm going to see how my first few visits go and maybe change practices to get what I want. I want a natural hospital birth. Last time I ended up on pitocin after my waters broke and I didn't progress. My labor was 36hrs and I took a walking epidural after 30 of those. Even though I cold feel everything and still move it wasn't the same!! This will be my last pregnancy so I want to make sure it's perfect!

Hello!  I took a test today, and there it was... a very faint but defintely visible line.  I'll wait a couple of days and take another to confirm HCG on the rise, but as it stands, my due date will be Feb 9.  I'm a little nervous, because at this time (2d past expected period) the tests for both of my sons were darker than the control line.  I guess we'll have to wait and see.

In the meantime though, I'm tired, so THIRSTY, and peeing every 20 minutes, which is completely typical for me in early pregnancy.  I've had two previous homebirths - DS1 Nov 2008, 8lb, 8oz and DS2 June 2010, 8lb 7oz.  We haven't told anyone yet, and we're going to wait until we get a 'solid' positive.  I'm trying to come up with something creative to let the family know.  Any ideas?  How are you going to share the news?

HELLO everyone!

Wow, I can't believe I'm here. I just got my BFP and my hands are shaking. due date calculators put me at Feb 10 due date.

This was my first menstrual cycle TTC. This will be our first. I'm 29, My DH is 35.

I was never really that into babies or kids, but when I met my DH 6 years ago I had this overwhelming feeling like I wanted him to be the father of my children-- he's just such an amazing, nurturing person. We've been happily married for nearly 3 years. He's the most important person in my life-- it's hard to imagine some little person is going to come along and change that! But it will be wonderful, I'm sure!

For professional reasons I'm so relieved I got pregnant right away. I am in a graduate program and have been working my ass off to finish one semester ahead of my cohort, so I could have December-May free for baby-having before looking for a job in my career field. The timing of this worked out perfectly.

Oh, something else about me, I'm white (non-practicing but culturally Jewish) and my husband is American-born Jamaican. I'd be really interested in meeting other moms-to-be of a biracial baby, as my marriage has taught me it can be an ugly world out there and this is a particular challenge I'd love some support with.

are you still nursing another/ other children?  i ask b/c that can change your cycle length.  it sounds like you don't chart (i don't either) and i only realized recently that i o on day 21!!!  which would give you a much later testing window....

they say the darkness of the line can depend on the test as well.

I am still nursing DS2.  I very loosely chart - cycle length and ovulation day.  I'm lucky - I get a slight cramp on the side I've ovulated midcycle, so it's easy to track.  This last time around I got my cramp on day 17.  I'm trying to be realistic right now, because it seems like I know a lot of people who've had miscarriages, but I'm still excited.  It's the first time my DH and I have TTC (the other two were happy surprises - conceived before we actively started trying).  I certainly have a lot of the early pregnancy signs that I had with the other two.  I'll test again Monday morning.  Here's hoping for a darker line!

Congratulations to everyone!

I did a home test on the 31st and got a definite positive result. Followed up the next morning at the doctor's office for the official test (IVF baby) and a second blood test yesterday. Both results were good, so I'm hoping for the best :) I go back in a week for a third blood test and there will be an ultrasound sometime soon after that. FET due date calculators say my due date is Feb 6.

This will be our second baby. We have a 3 year old son (also via IVF) who will be four years old 2 days after baby's due date :)

Very excited since we have been trying since our first was born. I'll be 38 in 2 months and didn't feel like we had much time to waste. We started the IVF process up again at the end of last summer, and this was our third attempt.

Hi all, congratulations to everyone!  I'm a first time poster EVER on this site, long-time lurker.  I'm so glad Mothering exists, but sad the print version is no more.

I've taken something like 5 HPTs so far, and all those internet calculators estimate the due date at February 1st, 2012.  We have a five-year old boy who's been asking for a sibling for years.  I'm finally close enough to finishing nursing school to make it happen.  Last birth was with a midwife in a Brooklyn hospital; now we're in Colorado, and we could go to the only free-standing birth center in the state (basically down the street from us) or to the birth center at the hospital I work at, with residents and midwives working together. . . For some reason this time I'm much more worried about things going wrong -- too much nursing school -- and because now I'm 35.  Somehow that number means something to me.   I look forward to talking about things with all of you fellow travelers!!
