Parents must accompany kids on all hikes.

Tryon Creek Junior Ranger Program
Fun for ages 6-12! Join a park ranger and learn
how you can help protect our natural resources,
plants and animals. Participating in nature games,
nature crafts and park explorations will help
junior rangers earn their badge. Parents must
sign a permission slip before children participate.
We strongly encourage you to participate with
your children but you may choose to take a walk
in the park during program time.

Let's Go Camping

This is quite cheap just 20$ for the whole family and they teach you how to camp. Rangers teach you how to do everything and they have family activities for all of you. I did this with my kids 5 years ago when I first moved to the Northwest. It was a great way to warm up to camping.

Free Shakespeare plays in the park.

If your kid can't sit for a whole play yet.. maybe you should skip this one for a bit. Or sit near the edge so you can "escape" if they get fussy.
