Clomid Fail

headscratch.gif We have been trying for over 2 years. I was married before and found out in 2004 I have endometriosis. So I know I had problems so, since the new marriage, better man, Stronger sperm. We did 6 months of clomid. The doc has no clue why that didnt work. I tried every ovulation test I could find. None of them really worked till the last one Clear Blue Easy. It gave me a smiley face but 2 hours later there was nothing. My doc wants me to go to the Fertility Clinic. Is IUI a good choice to try and go with. Hubby sperm is great. It seems I never ovulated but I have had my thyriod checked and it is low. I have been on meds for a year and just had the meds increase because they where still low. Maybe that will help before I have to spend the money on the Clinic. Any advice will be great. help.gif  I do know they want me to lose wieght but that is also a hard task when you work all the time.

I highly recommend going to the fertility clinic. When you go they can really do all the tests and figure out what your problem really is and why the Clomid & other meds you are on don't work.

IUI may or may not be an option that they will recommend to you at the clinic... it really depends on your test results. I know they have a lot of different options to suggest.

Best of luck to you.

I had to have one tube tied off because it was so damaged from the emdometriosis. I already had the HCG test and that crap hurts. and it is always a man doing the test. I told him have his prostate checked and come back and tell me if that hurt.

Thanks. I think we need to give my body a rest for 2 months before jumping into more tests and more meds so soon after clomid

While you were on the Clomid, did you go in to have your hormone levels checked?  When I was taking it, I would go in at what I thought was 7dpo to make sure that my hormone levels were showing that I did O.  That way the dosage could be adjusted as needed.

I think a fertility clinic would be the way to go.  They can do all kinds of tests to find the true root of the problem, and the best way to fix it.

Good luck!!

I have Kaiser and I live in VA and they didnt montior it. They told me to go to the store and buy the tests. Years ago when I did it the first time I was monitored. I hope when I got the the feritlity Doc. They will be more helpful. I think I was just a number to my OB who was never there to answer my emails. but she at least had me get some tests done. Also she tested the hubby.

Yeah, if they were doing it unmonitored, I would definitely try to get in somewhere that would do it monitored.  Clomid won't do much good if the dosage is wrong.  But you have a great positive attitude about the fact that you were able to get some tests done!  At least you already have DH's SA out of the way, that's one less thing to worry about.  And you've already done the HSG (and I agree, it HURTS - I nearly fainted).

Best of luck to you, I hope you can find a fertility doc that will have all the answers for you.  :)

Ask your doctor about Femara.  My specialist says that for those for whom Clomid doesn't work, Femara often does and vice versa.  I tried Clomid for 2 months and tried Femara this month.  No side effects and I had 4 follicles.  I'm now in the 2WW.  I highly recommend going to a fertility clinic.  I feel much better with their experience on my side. Good luck!

6 months of Clomid in a row isn't really a good idea. It builds over time, and actually hinders getting pregnant. I wholehearted suggest the fertility doc and some real answers.
