is there anything like the arms reach cosleeper that would work with a very short platform bed?

Right now our mattress is on the floor because it's just been easier that way for the last couple years with kiddos in and out of the bed.  Since our three year old will still be sleeping with us when the new baby comes, I'd like to have something like an Arms Reach cosleeper for the first weeks...but that doesn't work when your mattress is on the floor.  We're about to get a platform for the bed, but that won't raise it very much higher, I still don't think the cosleeper would work.

Should I get a moses basket or something like that to place next to the bed?  Or one of those hard-walled things that goes in the bed?  Just curious if anyone else had experienced this.  Thanks!

Arms Reach has a cosleeper designed for low beds: http://www.amazon.com/Arms-Reach-Co-Sleeper-Mini-Natural/dp/B0007CQ6OK/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1306442993&sr=8-10. It says it's for beds as low as 16" from floor to top of adult mattress. Maybe this would work once you have the platform?

We don't have room for our co sleeper for this baby....due in October. I'm going to try these baby bumpers.
