Hi there! Moving to Chicago very soon & would love to connect with other parents! That said, I'm also WOH so meeting others on a weekend here & there would be nice. ... I've met some amazing families there & some children that I & DS will miss a lot when we move. Would also be interested in learning about any groups that meet during the week that are either welcoming to dads or that dads organize. DH will SAH with DS next year & WAH part-time & wants to meet other families but is a little shy about it.

Oh, and we are looking at places mostly on the north side (from near north all the way up to Evanston).

We have an AP group here in the area (near west suburbs/city- Oak Park, Berwyn, Melrose Park, etc.). Both online and meetups. Fantastic and diverse group.

I'm also a CBE in Oak Park. Great community here.

Hi Mamas! Hope you all are staying cool in this crazy heat. I was wondering what everyone thought of possibly starting a private facebook group for all of us chicago-area mamas to connect and communicate! I just joined one for my due date club and thought it would be pretty effective for organizing get togethers and such with the other local mamas in this thread.

What does everyone think? Or is there already something like this set up?

Let's do it!  I relocated to IL last year and then just moved again last week.  I pretty much know where you are, but not sure what's between us and darlawoods!

I'm on Northwest side of Chicago.  DS is going into 2nd grade at CPS and did the YMCA afterschool program in Kindergarten a few days a week.  He loved it.

I'm in for a facebook group.  None of my friends have kids either and it would be nice to connect!

I'm a single mama to a three year old little dude. We live on the south side (Beverly, Evergreen Park, Oak Lawn, Mt. Greenwood area).

I just requested to join the group. I was chatting with a few of you earlier this spring about getting together and I think the FB group is a great idea! 

I'm in Rogers Park (just off Morse red line). My first baby is due any day now and I'd like to be able to get together with other moms up here (none of my local friends have kids) and get the kiddo out of the house. :-) We're a public transit family too.
