VENT - I am not "The Man" or Wal-Mart b/c I have a diaper store

I see a lot of negativity online towards people who have their own businesses (like me with the diaper store, others who manufacture their own product, etc.)  Some people are just "haters" who have this attitude... like today when I was accused online of lying to customers about detergents in order to make a buck!  Like we're all so shady, and we deceive customers into buying bad products, or keep the truth from them, or some nonsense.  Or, that any manufacturer of any successful diaper or carrier is somehow bad, and only WAHM products are okay.  Never mind that EVERY successful cloth diaper out there is headed by a WAHM who just made a really good product a few years ago.  It even happens in my free orientation sessions... these pregnant parents will listen to each other's rumors rather than just ask or believe me... b/c now that I have a store, I am "authority" and they'd rather hear a bunch of half-truths and nonsense from each other.  GAH!  If only they knew how many sales we don't make b/c we tell people the unvarnished truth about products.

Hugs.  Obviously I'm in a different business but we get those people too occaisionally.  It used to really upset me and I finally realized it was because I really cared, it was my baby, I really was trying to do a good job and to have someone be nasty was just so personally offensive.  I know this sounds bad but I do so much better now that I have part time customer service people who handle the e-mails and phone calls.  The negative ones are SO few and far between (99% of our customers are awesome) but they take it a lot less personally than I did LOL  My stress level has gone way down.  Even one rude, unhappy, etc. person would ruin my month.  Granted we virtually always can make people happy but I just wish everyone was happy.

LOL!  Same thought here.  I told DH I needed to go dig my newborn diapers out just to feel their lovely softness.
