Distressed by Embedded Ads

I saw the following advertisement embedded in a forum this morning:

Since when does mothering.com place advertisements in forums? At the very least, they should be *clearly marked* as an advertisement. Every other online community of which I am aware makes a clear distinction between advertisements and editorial content.

That thread was removed. It was inappropriately placed. Mothering does post on behalf of sponsors from time to time but we have a specific protocol to follow for such posts and that thread dod not do so.
