wally's ear oil

My daughter had a cold, and still has nasal congestion (been about a week and its *almost* gone). She has for the past few days been messing with her ears (I assume from the pressure/congestion) so I put the 'wally's ear oil' in her ear. I have been doing it twice a day for 3 days. How do I know if it has worked? I would hate for her to be walking around with an ear infection. Do I just continue to put it in until she isn't messing with her ears anymore? She is 18 months and never had an ear infection before. Thanks :)

I'm not sure what wally's ear oil is. when older dd was younger we used garlic oil in her ears for a few days. Usually until I was sure that she was feeling better (i.e. back to "normal", not messing with ears). If I had any doubts I would pop into the dr's for him to  take a quick peek, he would always give me a scrip for an antibiotic but we didn't always fill it. I just went with my gut. good luck mama and i hope your baby is feeling better soon!
