Here is my birth story:
On Saturday May 21 I got induced by my OB at 10am. Everything was going well until I got my epidural which the dr who did it screwed it up. Needless to say, the meds were not lasting as long as they should of so I was feeling a lot of the contractions during the day. I was fully dilated by 10:30pm but I didn't start pushing until 11pm. Apparently according to the nurse I wasn't pushing properly which was pissing me off because I was doing what she told me to do. Once it hit 11:50pm, my OB came in to finish off the job and unfortunately his shoulders got stuck coming out. Because the epidural wore off I felt everything and it was very scary as the Doctor thought she broke his shoulder. They were able to get him out and at this point all the nurses and doctors were in my room making sure my son could breath because he head was out for too long. He went straight into the nursery and I didn't get to see him or hold him for 12 hours because I couldn't walk. They still had the IV in me and I tore. I got 5 stitches. Finally I was able to get out of bed and I cried like a baby when I finally was able to see my son. It was a moment I will never forget.
As for my son, he had a few minor complications. Good news he shoulder was not broken, just a bruised muscle. His face was bruised from coming out, he had low blood sugar and he ended up having Jaundice which we had to stay in the hospital an extra 2 nights. But I am happy to announce my son has passed all his minor problems and he was given a clean bill of health on Friday :D.
As for me, since the doctor screwed up my epidural I ended up having spinal headaches (which are brutal)! This can happen to 1 in 1500 women and of course, I was one of them. They can last up to 3 weeks so I was lucky enough that my doctor gave me tylenol 3's and they help with the pain. I am still sore in the vagina area, I am hoping that the stitches are almost gone. It would be nice to feel myself again. Other than that I am happy to announce I had a baby boy on Saturday May 21 at 11:56pm, weighing 8lbs 12oz. And we named him Stefano Antonio.
