Sour Cream

Do you consider sour cream to be a healthy addition to your diet? I am wondering because we are out of yogurt and my LO requested a bowl of sour cream instead, which I gave him, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. The ingredients in the sour cream we have right now are cultured cream, skim milk and vitamin A, but my husband bought it and the kind I normally buy is cultured cream only. Does this have similar probiotic qualities to yogurt? I imagine the fats are nearly the same as butter. DS and I really enjoy dairy products and I consider them a healthy addition to our diet, so what I am asking is not a general is-dairy-good-for-you question, but sour cream specifically amongst the dairy products available.

yes definitely, my dk eat it as if it were ice cream. We get the regular one, not the low fat / no fat type. I see nothing wrong with it.
