videos for a tv free kid

Thread Starter

I have a 19 hour flight in my future with my 4 1/2 year old and 6 month old.  So far the only thing my 4 year old has watched is a few epsiodes of Mighty machines and that has been  extremely limited.  I am packing lots of tv free things for him to do but need a few things in case I just can't hack it.  Has anyone watched reading rainbow and mr rogers neighboorhood and would you recommend them or is there something else you would recommend.  I used to watch them when I was little and though they might be good.

reading rainbow is AWESOME.  you might also want to check the books that are mentioned in the particular broadcast to take along for some non video reading.. the kids like it when they discover the books that way ;)  they used to have a great website that listed the themes and had a bibliography of the books but PBS took it down!  why?!!!
