Nursing Mamas TTC June - Page 6

Congrats, krjt!!!  I am also dealing with short LPs and am really heartened to hear you can get that BFP nonetheless.  Keep us up to date on how you're doing for a little, OK?

boomer78, oy oy oy oy oy the rollercoaster of TTC/thinking about TTC.  So sorry.  I hope if you're sick you're feeling better soon!  I am only nursing DS 1x/day, but can imagine if you went from 9 to 6 you'd be in pain.  Ugh.  I had many days like that back when we were nursing a lot more and it always got better after a day or two.  I pumped a little "off the top" if it got really bad.   Did you see Harmony96 is also a 1978 baby?

Odinsmommy, good to see you back.  Good luck with everything!!!  You have a VERY detailed chart compared to mine.  I guess I'm lazy!!  You're going to have a lot more information when you want it!! :)

sosurreal09, welcome!  Just ask if you want us to "decode" terms.  Maybe there is a glossary out there for TTC terms?  Seems everyone all over the Internet uses pretty much the same acronyms.

Regarding the "feeling old" stuff.  I don't actually FEEL that old, except sometimes in my body and sometimes compared to other moms-with-one around me.  It's all good, though!! :)  Still able to get down on the floor and rough-n-tumble about as much as DS wants!

Waiting, waiting for O.  La lala lalalala.

Congrats, krjt!!!

AFM, I have an extremely faint line this morning at 10DPO!!! Perhaps it's evap or perhaps tomorrow will show a stronger line. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!

Well I have never charted before or anything. I mean if I have AF then I am fertile right? Even if DD is nursing like 25x a day (past few weeks are killing me!)

A lot of women have a few infertile cycles as their fertility returns while breastfeeding.  I had 4, but then I had a fertile cycle even though DD is nursing at least 25x a day including several every night.  When people here are complaining about a short or inadequate "LP," that is luteal phase, they are talking about having a short enough luteal phase that they cannot get pregnant and have the baby implant within enough time before their period starts.  This is one area that a little extra weight will likely help you.  Nursing mothers with a few extra pounds (as long as they are still healthy, there's always a balance to be found) are more likely to have fertile cycles sooner than beanpoles like me.

Wow!! So exciting!!! Can't wait to hear your update tomorrow!! Cautiously cheering for you!!!

Well, I got my BFP on the 6th followed by brown spotting on the 7th and more brown blood just now.  Talk about a short lived high.  This was my 1st BFP after 9 cycles TTC.  I had an inkling I might be pregnant, since I have been experiencing very sore nipples and decided to test on CD 27/LP13.

I called the ob today and the nurse told me brown spotting was normal as long as it wasn't accompanied by cramping.  I still didn't feel comfortable--not quite crampy, just not great.  I took a nap with DD this afternoon and when I sat on the toilet to pee when we woke up, several drops of brown blood came out.  Seems like the beginning of the end, right?  I am still sort of hopeful, but guessing this is not a good sign.

Stink.  Guess I'm going to rush up to the library real quick before dinner.  Fourteen books were due back on the 2nd.  Oops.  Thought I had more time.  Stink stink stink.  Could be worse, though.  I easily had all 14 books in my possession, so yay for no lost-book charges, which for each book would have been more than my cumulative fines.

jips--keep us posted!

odinsmommy--can't wait to hear more, sounds exciting!

I'm on Day 8, I think and feeling so much less hormonal than the past six months that it is a relief.  Hoping this will be a "regular" cycle with a BPF at the end. :)

I got AF back right after birth and never missed ONE period! SO I have had 20 so far....

jips, so hard not to worry, heh, but more and more I am coming across stories where women have some bleeding in the early part of pregnancy and it is in fact nothing.  Is there anything you can do to get reassurance, did the nurse offer anything?  Hang in there!

OdinsMommy, congrats on the bfp!  Are you going to be testing again to get the darker line?

jips - I say you could still be preggo for sure. Brown blood = old blood so perhaps it's blood that never made it down until now from implantation. Keep us updated. I definitely still have some hope from you.

sraplayas - Hope this cycle is a regular one for you as well! Irregularity certainly is frustrating and confusing

sosurreal09 - I wonder why some nursing mothers go months and years without their period but others have it return so quickly. I think it would have been nice to have an earlier return as my sex drive returned when AF showed, but I also enjoyed my time not dealing with her.

AFM I'm still very hesitant to call it a BFP. It's so faint and not everyone sees it. I'm definitely going to do another in the morning with FMU. I definitely tested with 2nd or 3rd MU.

Yeah well there I was bragging to my FF friends that I wouldn't have AF for long time...footinmouth.gif

Try not to freak out too much  yet. I know, much easier said than done. I have spotted with 3 of my 4 pregnancies. And each time it happens I still get apprehensive and fearful, but go on to have full term pregnancies. Brown is good too. Though I know plenty of women who have bled bright red blood with clots which were SCH's (Subchorionic Hematoma  ) and had normal full term pregnancies. So don't give up yet! I'm sending you loads of sticky vibes.

AFM: I'm in the 2ww. OPKs went darker and darker and this morning my digi went positive. So off we went for IUI's, best part is today is IF's birthday! So I'm hoping that we catch that egg and caught it on time. Does anyone else have a REALLY short window where they get a positive on the digital? I've noticed that if i don't test at 9,11,2 and 9 I can miss it. Last night my wondfos looked positive, but digi was still neg. This morning wondfos again looked positive at 8 (was not my first morning pee, i'm up at 5 am peeing and have about 3 trips to the bathroom between then and 9 am) digi neg. At 9:30 before I left for an appt I decided to check again since i knew i'd miss checking at 11, and the digi went positive and the wondfo was about the same. Got home this evening at 6:30 and wondfo was way darker then this morning and the digi negative. Anyone else have issues with the digi? I'm second guessing it, but know i'm surging as the wondfos are clear as day positive.

I've looked into this a lot, and it seems to be a combination of factors.  The most important 2 seem to be frequency and body fat.  With a higher frequency of sucking, a woman needs a higher amount of body fat to regain fertility.  Of course too much body fat can be a problem for conception as well.

Hang in there! I've heard brown blood is ok too!

jips - Any update today? Thinking about you.

aka mommy - Good luck!!! Hope you catch the egg!!

JMJ - Very interesting and makes sense.

AFM - BFP!!! I used a store brand rather than my $1 tests and got a clear pos.gif. I'll do a digital tomorrow. I'm in shock and so is DH. Hoping for a sticky bean.

Good news and bad news!

Went to the Dr today and got my IUD out! biggrinbounce.gif (non hormonal)

I should be ovulating around the 13th based on my last period BUT I apparently have (and have had it for a while now...) bacterial vaginosis! The Dr said b/c I am so healthy and eat so well/drink so much water I haven't had the real fishy smell or itching or anything b/c my body kept flushing it out. However I am infected and it infected my bladder too I guess...IDK I have had bleeding and cramping for like 5 months on and off and went to the Dr and she said it was fine everything was ok (so I am so healthy she didn't even know I had it!) but she said it was probably just that all along.

The vaginally inserted antibiotics are required for 5 days and she said no sex for a week! (my fertile week!) So I guess there is next month!

Odinsmommy, yay!  Congrats!  :D

sosurreal, so sorry that you'll have to skip this cycle, but yay for getting your IUD out.  :D
