Poison Ivy

I'm sitting here on my 7th day with a full body poison ivy rash.  I'll spare the details on where it is and the litany of treatments I've tried.  (Though if anyone wants advice, feel free to PM me.)  Instead, I'm trying to look for the future... a future that will allow me to garden again!

I have two problems.  First, I can't seem to reliably identify the plant (but I'm working on learning that) and second, I don't know how to effectively get rid of it.  We have an organic garden and I'm loathe to use weed killer.  I'm also certain that for my own health, my dd's health and the health of kids who come and play in our yard we need to do something drastic.

Anyone have any knowledge or advice about killing poison ivy/oak in the yard in a way that is healthy and environmentally responsible?

Oh man... subbing... as I sit trying to resist the urge to scratch myself.... mine's mostly on my chest, thanks to a cute little nursling who didn't wash his hands well enough after playing outside.... (just glad HE doesn't seem allergic to it... yet...)

Oh! I have it on one of my breasts and nipple.  I haven't been letting DD nurse on that side and I'm alternately worrying about loosing my milk on that side and engorgement.  My DD seems immune so far as well.

I've basically been in agony for a week straight.  Hope yours doesn't spread more!
