Help Finding Inexpensive Denim Shorts!

Somehow, even though DS was born at the end of July, my existing maternity wardrobe only includes two pairs of shorts.  Both in exciting "maternity clothing colors" (a.k.a. khaki and drab green).  I ordered a cute pair of plaid shorts from ON, but I'd really like are some denim shorts.  Gap is only offering two denim shorts and they're both about $55.  ON and Motherhood have cheaper options but I'm so not into the idea of a full belly panel...especially in hot weather.  Can shorts with these full panels (like the Secret Fit one) be successfully worn with the panel rolled/folded down below the belly?

Where else can I look?  I don't understand why the maternity jeans that I have (and love) from Gap are just a below-belly band, but it's so hard to find denim shorts that have a below belly band.

Check Old Navy.. I got a pair there. It has a full belly band.. but I think they had others that did not. They were only like $25 and I love them!

Yes the full panel pants (well some styles at least) can be worn folded underneath. Thyme maternity in Canada (who motherhood copied their nice full panel pant from) have one called a three in one, that can be worn all the way up, folded once for support, or folded right under the belly-- which then almost acts as a support belt too. Very comfy. I wear them folded as non-mat clothes too. lol. 

But try walmart too-- just not the maternity section. I don't know about denim, but almost all of their cotton type hsorts last year had a 3-4" thick super elastic waistband. I got really cute white capris, and I'm going to check there for shorts this summer. I think they'll fit perfect with a growing belly.

I bought all my stuff at Goodwill, Salvation Army and other thrift stores and have had great luck.  When your 40 and definitely preg. with your last, spending a lot on maternity clothes is senseless *LOL*
