Pulled pork, fried chicken, hush puppies, etc, etc!  The ambiance is lacking (acoustics are very loud and the dining area is rather crowded), but the food is good!!

I'm nauseous again lately.  I used to wake up starving in the middle of the night, but for the past few nights, I wake up feeling...off.  It's a pukey uncomfortable feeling and food makes it worse.  Just like morning sickness but not as severe.

I've been taking 1 10 mg Pepcid before dinner and it completely gets rid of my heartburn.  This is something else entirely!  And I don't like it one bit!!

Ughhghgh, work today and then I'm hoping I can just come home and collapse.  After today, 2 more weekends of this crap.  Ugh.  All my joints ache.  My hips are SCREAMING at me!!  I just want to unscrew them and put my legs to the side for a few hours.  Man.  The end is hard.  Makes any fear/anxiety over labor really disappear JUST to have your body back and stop being in pain or uncomfortable.

Carrie ~ I meant to tell you that I keep a stash of granola nut bars in a drawer in my nightstand for those times when I wake up starving. Another thing that used to work for me was to eat a cheese stick right before bed. The protein helped tide me over a lot longer than anything else. When I started taking the iron I had to stop the cheese stick because my MW said no calcium for an hour before or after the iron.

I think I definitely have two things going on. Nausea that feels somewhat like the morning sickness but not quite as bad and acid indigestion that has turned into acid reflux. Sometimes I burp up this foul tasting stuff that burns. I drank about 4 times as much milk as usual yesterday trying to get rid of it.

Isn't it some kind of cruel joke that pg should be so hard, physically? Maybe it's nature's way of trying to keep the population in check. I never thought I'd say this but I am over being pg. I want to be done and have this baby already so I can get back to being able to move around and eat like a normal person again.

The girlfriend of one of Sean's friends asked me what I needed for the baby. I told her some of those kimono style t-shirts or any t-shirts, really, that aren't onesies. So, what does she send me? A box full of fancy onesies. She told me to let her know if I didn't need or wouldn't use any of it so she could return it. How horrible would it be to give all of it back to her? If it were one or two things and/or she hadn't asked ahead of time what I needed, I'd just keep them. But she got several and specifically what I said I did not want/need. I don't want to be ungrateful but, really? Plus, it's silly to waste her money on things I won't use just to be polite, right?

I forgot to post Sean's lasted pic of names:

Colin (Young Creature)
Broden (Brother)
Branson (Sword)
Korin (Spear) (Core-in)
Astin (A God)
*Nolan (Champion)
Torin (Chief) (Tour-in)
*Gavin (Little Falcon)

The only one I like at all is Astin. And, actually, I like Aston, not Astin, but he thinks Astin has a better meaning. I don't know why he can't see that we could change the spelling a little and still have the same meaning. Many names have several alternate spellings. The starred names are the ones he likes the most. I don't like Gavin at all. Nolan is ok but I dont like it enough to want to use it.

Just wanted to make a suggestion.  I absolutely love the chiropractor when I am pregnant.  I really strained my neck while giving birth the first time.  It was a 52 hour labor and hard work.  My second labor was 23 hours and I was still really out of place.  So, the third time around I decided to try out the chiropractor and see if it would help 1. with hip pain 2. with labor.  Amazing - if only I had just done it from the start.  My hip pain was absolutely gone and my labor- 4 hours.  I kept it up with my fourth baby- 4 hours again and no hip pain the entire pregnancy.  I've learned some tricks to keeping everything in place, so I don't need to go as often, but it is a place of bliss for me.

I can even condense what you wrote b/c I need to respond to all of it!!

The granola bars are a good idea, but the crumbs and the crinkling wrapper piss off DH. I know I should just tell HIM to piss off, but I try to keep the peace where I can, lol.

The nausea for me today was exactly like my morning sickness was back in the beginning.  OMG.  I thought I was going to barf quite a few times today. I don't like this at all.

I'm totally over being pg.  I'm really honestly right there with you, and am super happy this is my last baby and I'll never have to do this again.  I was getting in the car today and I finally just sat there for a minute before I turned it on and said, "Why do I do this to myself?"  I run myself ragged, I'm huge, I'm uncomfortable...all for this baby boy.  I do it all for him.  Once he's here, I can be ME again, I can do what I want to do and be free. Well, as free as I can be with an infant nursling, but you know what I mean!!

How many onesies did she give you?  I would be polite in that situation, and maybe give her back a few and be like, "Thanks for all these, I really don't need them all but I'll keep a few!  Thanks!!"  that way you don't sound ungrateful but also, don't take all those things you don't need!

Names...I love Aston!!  GRRR!  I'm so annoyed for you that he's being a stickler for the spelling.  I did a quick search and Donovan caught my eye.  It means Dark Warrior.  Wyatt doesn't match your naming requirement for endings but it also means Little Warrior.  I like Wyatt Sloane. (Did I spell that correctly?)  It sure is tough to find a name that means what you want it to mean, and still be a name you love.

I'm excited b/c I'm planning a water birth and Dax means water.  I didn't even realize that.  But it's perfect.  Can't wait.

Thanks for the suggestion!!  I might look into it.  I'm not sure.  I had a bad experience with chiro care last pg, and DH is adamant against doing it.  It's one of those things that I don't think can hurt, but can be a waste of money if it doesn't help.  So idk.  But I'm so glad it helped you so much, hearing things like that makes me want to try it again...

Just wanted to add that I agree that you can really get a bad chiropractor just as much as you can get a bad doctor, midwife, etc.  I've had a couple of "bad" ones that did nothing for me, or I felt were not receptive to my needs.  So, I have been blessed in the small town I'm in to have a really good chiropractor.  But, word of mouth is the best way to find a good one- or trial and error.  Plus, I have superb insurance and hardly pay anything- so I can indulge myself a bit more.  So, I do have that bias.

Carrie ~ The crinkly wrapper annoys me, too. I get those chewy fruit & nut granola bars so there aren't any crumbs. Plus, I'm not sharing my bed with another adult who cares about that stuff right now so I can do what I want. But, yeah, if I had to choose between starving nausea or pissing off my dh, I'd piss off my dh.

I'm ready to tell my dh to piss off on the name thing. He keeps coming back with names I've told him I can't stand. I went through my name meaning book again yesterday and didn't come up with anything new even with dropping my restrictions. I keep going back to the same names that dh has said he doesn't like. We are at an impasse. Since he picked ds3's name (He just got lucky that I liked it, too), I think it's my turn to pick this one's name. At least we agree on the middle name (for now).

Brenden Sloan
Aston Sloan
Aiden Sloan (these two don't sound so good together)

I haven't had any luck with finding a good chiro here, either. I had a great one in Hawaii so maybe I got spoiled. No one else measures up. He did everything through skill and touch and intuition, no x-rays or fancy contraptions. I get turned off as soon as a chiro suggests x-rays. I just don't see why it's necessary. I think it's because most do accident injury for insurance so they need an x-ray to prove an injury. My insurance doesn't cover chiro at all so it's hard for me to afford it in the beginning, too.

Oh see and one of the things I like about my chiropractor is that he DOES take x-rays, to ensure that there isn't some problem which is going to be exacerbated by the adjustments. There are several injuries that could be made much worse if you had an adjustment while they are present. Other than that, no fancy contraptions though.

DH and I aren't making any headway with names, but we've got longer to go. For a boy, we have Ryan Adlee (or Adli, I can't decide). But I would rather it be Adlee Ryan... or there's several others that I love as well. Girls all we have is Addison. I like it, because I want the nickname Addie... but my preference by far is for Adelyn... and he won't budge on that one. He hates it. We don't have any other girls names even remotely close to agreeing on, even a middle name.

MW: Have you tried Barbara Shields at White Oak Family Chiropractic?  She's an LLL mom & I have several friends who go to her and love her.

Adlee!  That's a name I've never heard, but I like it!  A lot!  Hmm, I like it as a first name too.  LOVE Addison or Adelaide, or anything that gets shortened to Addie.  I also know someone who named her little girl Adelaide but they shortened it to Dell -- so cute and fits her so well.

A distant friend of DH's family named her little boy Adli several years back and I've loved it ever since. It's still the only time I've ever heard it.

I also would love to have a boy with the nickname "Eli" but DH hates Elijah, and I can't come up with any others ones that I like.

My other favorites are Elin, Harper, Rowan, Levi, Emerson... all of which DH hates. lol. His favorites right now are htings like Mackenzie, and Seattle (which i like, but sounds funny with our last name), and Cole. For a middle name he really likes Grace. I wonder if I could convince him into Adelyn Grace. Hmmmmm...

I love Eli by itself!  It was on our short list until we decided on Dax as the middle name, and decided we didn't like having two 3 letter names.

Adelyn Grace is just lovely!  Oh, I love all your picks.  DH's can be such sticks in the mud in regards to names.

I called her several times a couple of years ago and left at least 2 messages. Never got an answer or a return call.

JJ ~ I like Adelyn Grace. It sound very pretty. Grace is a rather popular name right now, though, in case that matters. DS2's first girlfriend is named Grace. She moved to Russia and we haven't seen her in years. He still says she's his girlfriend. I don't think she ever knew. lol.gif

I like Rowan, too. That's on my list of boy names. DH doesn't like it. The only reason I don't push it more is because it's so close to Ryan, which is ds1's name (so, of course, I like your boy name winky.gif). I also like Ronan.

I'm sick again. WTH?! The kid next door was sick and his parents don't seem to think it might be a good idea to keep him away from others when he's contagious even though they keep him home from school.eyesroll.gif So, ds2 got sick and then ds3 and now me. On top of that, I got suckered into getting 2 kittens. DS2 and ds3 have wanted a pet forever. They kept talking about a dog, which I know I can't deal with right now. Then a friend of ds1 had a litter of kittens and he wanted one. I couldn't let him get one and not get one for the younger boys so we have 2. And, of course, they have fleas and now worms. grossedout.gif I don't understand how brand new kittens who have never been outside get fleas. Even though I'm sick I've been having to clean all kinds of nasty stuff. At least we see the vet tomorrow.

I love all the names- all so unique.

My husband really wants to name our baby Hanna if she is a girl, which I like also like, but I like Elora also.  For boys we are thinking Uriah or Asa or Uri.  So fun to be able to name a new human being.

What is up with sick kids being allowed to play?!?  When I was a kid, if you stayed home sick, you stayed HOME.  You weren't allowed out of the house even if you "felt better".  I think it was my moms way of filtering out the fakers, lol.  Feel better, MW.  No fair you keep getting sick.  Blech.

Oh I love kittens.  I have a love/hate relationship with my cats, though!  Haha!  Ew to the fleas and worms.  Where were they born? Not outside, huh?  Hmm.  Interesting.  GL at the vet!  KUP!  And post pics!!

I love your girl choices!!  I like Asa the most out of that bunch of boys names.  It is fun, but SUCH a responsibility!  I keep trying the name on this baby that we picked and just hope it has longevity and grows well with him.

Ya'll have been talkative this weekend!

MW: I love Aston - I agree, I like the "o" spelling better than the "i" spelling, it just looks better.  Never heard of Thigs either . . . maybe next time we are up that way - probably won't be for the 4th, much as we want to, as we need to not spend the $$ - but we will eventually!

Carrie, I second the chiro care. I started pre-pregnancy to help my hips get better aligned - some of it is just not entirely fixable, as I have a bit of scoliosis, but it has helped tremendously. Added seeing his massage therapist as well a couple weeks ago, and and totally no more hip or shoulder pain! He does use x-rays on some, but not all his patients. (I haven't had any, and neither has DH). Also he does a lot of children's adjustments too, which is great in case DS or this new baby should be in need of it, or craniosacral therapy. He also can, and has, gladly looked at DS's ears when we've thought he may have an ear infection. (he didn't). DH and I are in agreement that we like western medicine for diagnositics - it is nice to know what the problem is - and then we can decide how to treat it. Also very, very, non-vax supportive, and it is just nice to know someone IRL that is!

so, keep looking! we really aren't in a big, big area, yet we have tons of chiropractors. If you have whole foods, there should be a decent chiro somewhere, I'd think! we don't even have the whole foods!

JJ: yes, plenty of time for names! I like all that you have out there! it will narrow itself down once you know what you're having (whether at an u/s or the birth).

Much as I admire the unique names; we tend to stay more traditional; I want people to be able to spell and pronounce baby's name withougt much difficulty. I just don't want it to be a name that is too common, which may be why I no longer plan on using Rose as a middle name; it has gotten a lot more common of late, even though I would be doing it to honor family members - my MIL and my G.Gmother.

Granted with Norah, some may leave off the "h" but that is ok, generally it will be spelled right. And I don't see how you can mispronounce Gabriel or Norah. When I was younger I was much more into the more unique names! I've gotten boring as I've gotten older, I guess.

Nothing new here . . . baby girl is moving lots, DS is sleeping better, yay!, and we are almost at 25 weeks. Another peek at the baby on Thursday. DH says no more U/S after this one. I reminded him, that as DS was late, we did a couple BPP's to help postpone induction. I said if it comes to U/S vs. induction, I would rather the U/S. he, of course, reminded me that I can refuse both, which is true - I just am not a big boat rocker. Hopefully this little one will not be as "late" as her brother! thus avoiding the issue

A couple more ideas for the hip & shoulder pain mommas:

-make sure it isn't your mattress

-bellydance!  I'm loving this dvd this pregnancy.  I also have this one, which is good, but I prefer the other.

I'm doing a week of glucose monitoring & I'm doing fine w/my postprandial numbers, but my morning fasting readings are all on the high end of normal.  I wish I knew why/how to lower them b/c I'm afraid my hcp's aren't going to like them.

Ugh! I wrote a really long post this morning. Hit submit and left for the day. I came home to find it not submitted. It was never sent and the page was locked up so I had to shut everything down. I'm not going to write it all out again.

I had a prenatal appointment today. Everything was good. My hematocrit was up from 9.5 to 10.5. Doesn't seem like much for all the effort I've made to take this iron supplement, but my MW said that was very good. I have to keep taking it.

DH is planning to call again tomorrow. Interesting that he didn't call for 2 months and now he's calling every week after he got my really nasty letter. It makes me kind of mad that it takes that for him to make the effort to keep in touch with us. Would he have just gone along doing his own thing if I hadn't sent that letter?

How'd it go with the vet and the kittens??  Good news on the heme results -- keep it up.  It's a change and that's good!!

I hope to hear my platelet count soon, hopefully tmw.  I'm nervous!!

MW- Sometimes boys just don't see the things we see... Maybe he honestly was going on in his own world and not realizing it was bugging you that much. It sounds silly, but sometimes you really need to pay it out in black and white for them.

I keep feeling like I need to go back and see the chiropractor, but it's honestly not alignment and bones yet, I think the relaxin is just loosening all my joints... I don't think the chiro would really fix anything. I seriously think I'm waddling already, and it's only because it feels like my hips are falling apart! lol

Re: Names... I go back and forth with popularity. That's why DH laughs so much that I picked out Ryan, he keeps saying it's too normal for me. I like "different names" but conventional spellings. I grew up with a name nobody could spell or pronounce, and I hated it. That's one worry about Adelyn-- that people will spell it wrong, and also the Y in there makes it look like a "fad name". But any other spelling will lead to it being pronounced wrong... I want it like "adda-lynn" not "adda--lean". I'm not worried about Grace being so popular because it's a middle name, and besides, it's one of the few the DH picked out that I don't hate... so I'll run with it. lol. As long as it fits with the first name we ultimately pick, it will probably be the middle name. Boys is harder. Anyone know of a good "alternate" name for Kenneth? DH wants to use his fathers name, and I just can't stand it. I tried to push him towards using it as a girls name "Kenley", but it was a no go.

Speaking of boy/girl, I finally got a date for my ultrasound- 21 weeks to the day, and the day before my 26th birthday. I'm pretty sure I've got DH convinced to find out the sex too. Especially since one of his big worries is that they will "get it wrong", but we got a free session at a 3D ultrasound place as well, so I'm going to plan to have that one done two weeks after I think... that way we'll have had two different people confirm the same sex (in theory...). I might even have the original person write it down in the envelope like someone on here did, and then not open it until the morning of the second ultrasound, so we don't spend two weeks sure it is one sex, and then having the girl tell us something else.

Also FINALLY have an OB, officially. Funny thing is... she retires in August. *whistles*. So basically there is a new girl taking over her practice, OR, the receptionist said that by then, you will have had a few visits in the office, and you have a good chance of being referred to one of the other OB's in the practice as well... which coincidently-- one of them was my ultimate top choice.

Anyways-- DH made flank steak and baked potatoes for dinner, and it is done, which means my brain is officially turned off!
