Exclusively BF 8 mo old not pooping

My 8 mo old DS is exclusively BF (well, he has eaten maybe a tablespoon worth of food over the course of his little life) and hasn't pooped for maybe 5 days.  He seems happy enough.  Should I be concerned?

I know you posted this a few days ago, I hope the little guy has finally been able to poop! I'd usually say 5 days is a long time, but my 6 month old son recently went about the same length of time without seeming upset, and when he did poop, he was fine. I dont know the way babies generally act when they're constipated, but I'd assume they wouldnt be happy about it. Longer than 5 days though no matter what I would get a bit worried and maybe call a doc or nurse for advice.

Nope!  Not if he's EBF and doesn't seem uncomfortable or show any signs of constipation.  5 days without poop, in an EBF baby, just means his body is being very efficient in using all the nutrition of the BM.

Not according to some lactation consultants- I agree with the following article- http://holisticibclc.blogspot.com/2011/06/gut-microbes-and-poop.html?showComment=1307334171602#c3312959995747000108
