Anyone get the replacement magazine (Natural Life, I think) yet? - Page 2

Got mine too. It's a nice little magazine, but certainly no replacement for Mothering. It reminds me of the 'zine' that was put out by the homeschooler/unschool group in Eugene when I lived in Oregon. Okay to look through, but not really worth the money.

I got mine a couple weeks ago. To put it bluntly, it is crap.

I hold out hope that maybe, just maybe one day Mothering Magazine is resurrected. I miss everything about it...

I haven't gotten mine yet either and had emailed them a few weeks ago and got the same response someone else did about the addresses and it taking them longer to get it out to everyone.

I miss Mothering I so looked forward to recieving the magazine every other month. :( I hope that it will someday come back to print.

I got mine yesterday, so I do know they are rolling them out. :)

I got mine a few days ago.  I was attracted to the "Accidental Beekeeping" article, since I am a beekeeper, but that's all I've read so far.  And I disagreed with alot that was in the article.  It was poorly written and contained bad information.  If that one article is any indication of the rest of the publication I will not ever choose to pay for it!

I got mine yesterday and I am really upset.  All the parenting type information in Natural Life is stuff you've already read in Mothering.  I renewed for 2 years on the same month Mothering went to online only.  They took my money, never notified me that the print magazine was going away, and didn't include me in the last 2 online only issues either.   How is this legal or ethical?  angry.gif

I got mine last week. I've read the beekeeping piece and a couple other things I don't remember. The writing is ....disappointing. So far. We'll see.

I got mine yesterday & yes, it's quite thin. I've only flipped through it so far and have yet to fully read any of the articles. Looks ok I guess but I doubt I will renew when my subscription runs out. I really miss Mothering greensad.gif

I came here to find info on this..  I got a Natural Life magazine in the mail and am confused. It seems as though Mothering changed their name to Natural Life?  Then I read something somewhere that they ceased.  No more Mothering magazines?  Shouldn't I have gotten a letter in the mail about this explaining this?  Did I maybe throw it away by mistake - did anyone else get anything?

I like the Natural Life magazine so far but Im only on page 10  lol  (enjoyed the food irradiation article) Here I was thinking it was Mothering the whole time, only with a different name.

Where can I find an official announcement (by Mothering) explaining this situation and why it happened, are they also going to close down the website? Did they merge with Natural Life magazine?

Just really confused and would like to hear from a trusted source. I could find nothing about this on this website, this thread is the only thing I came across so posting here hoping someone will know, I havent had much time this year for the forums...

Just updating my post from the other day. The magazine was sitting in my mailbox when I got home that day. It's thinner than I expected haven't read too much of it so far but looks like I may find some good info (hopefully). I will repost once I get a chance to read it.

The closure of Mothering Magazine occurred in February. You can read about it on this page: www.mothering.com/subscribe and on that page you will find a link to the FAQ page about subscription questions. You will also find contact information for Natural Life.

Mothering's subscriptions and circulation department is now closed and Mothering's subscription fulfillment is now in the hands of Natural Life so any questions or concerns about that should be directed to Natural Life.

I am closing this thread as we are no longer in the position to address any questions about subscriptions. Your opinions of Natural Life can be posted to Books, Music and Media or you can post a review of the magazine to our Reviews section.
