best way to ferment?

so i have been eyeing the pickle-it.com jars and i know they are pricey but are they worth it? anyone have a better recommendation? thanks

I have found small pickle crocks second hand that work well. The problem is you don't really know where they've been, but if the finish is in decent shape, I usually go for it.
