1 year old tooth grinder

My daughter, almost one, has started to grind her teeth on purpose. She has 4 out on the top and the two on the bottom. The sound makes my skin crawl, it's just awful to listen to, and I can't find a way to make her stop. Sometimes I can distract her with something to chew on, but sometimes it just makes her angry. It's starting to drive me nuts. Any suggestions/thoughts?

No suggestions here, just sympathy as mine has been doing that ever since he had 2 teeth at 6 months.  I have gotten slightly more used to the sound over time at least. shrug.gif

My son is 1 also and does the same thing, he has 4 on the top and 4 on the bottom. I just ignore it ( really hard to do cause it drives me nuts) and he gets bored of it after a few hours. Every few weeks he'll get a kick of it again. No help, just sympathy

Same here. We've had 6 teeth for a couple months. Once he started he did it for a few weeks & then stopped. Hasn't started again yet.

No advice but more sympathy. DS just turned one, has nine teeth and has been grinding them for about two weeks now. It drives me and DH nuts, but there is no way to stop it as far as I know. I hope he cuts it out on his own soon!

Ha ha well I guess I'll just have to try to find some solace in the fact that I'm not alone om.gif
