I believe in ' Reduce, Reuse and Recycle", but I believe if you let the water sit like the one responder said you will be inviting bugs to settle in the water and create a whole other set of circumstances for your  family; not to mention how many flies will settle to drink water and do whatever they do when you are not looking. This is a recycling I will not recommend for anyone!! To me that's like letting your food sit out on the counter for hours; would anyone eat food thats been sitting out for hours?

I suppose it depends on the type of food. I have worked in both health care and food service, and my husband is a cook who is food safety certified, and we have been known to eat food that's been sitting out for hours. Have you never been to a cook-out?

Anyway, I see that it's your first post so you might not know your way around message boards, but it's better to reply to the topic in question rather than start a whole new topic. I have no idea what conversation you're referring to with regards to water sitting out, so I can't really comment on it.

I also worked in the restaurant industry for years as a cook and am food safety safety certified. I wont eat chicken or seafood of any type after 2 hours (even reheated, im picky)

Let me tell ya though, those deviled eggs that have been sitting there for 8 hours, are mine!
