When to start supplements to prevent/treat GBS

If I remember correctly from my last pg, I took echniacea, garlic, cranberry and maybe something else (I'll need to look in my cabinet.) to prevent/treat GBS because I have always been GBS+ when tested in the past. I'm pretty sure I don't want to start taking these things too soon or they can become less effective over time? So, when should I start them? I'm 32w now and all of my babies have come 1 or 2 days after their EDDs.

I took GSE pills and probiotics the whole pregnancy (not for GBS, but they both help with it). I talked to my midwife before the test and decided to do a garlic protocol with a little bit of the Hibiclens protocol thrown in. She said 8 days for the garlic. I sort of alternated, a few nights with garlic, then a Hibiclens douche, then a few more nights with garlic, etc. We'll see how my test comes out pretty soon.

I'm doing my GBS test next Friday so I started my probiotics again today (would have started sooner but my Whole Foods was out of stock on the brand I take) and I'll start the nightly garlic suppository on Friday. Hopefully that will have me GBS- by next Friday. If not, I'm going to ask my OB to retest me at my 37 week appt. I have yeast issues already and I do not want to start out my nursing relationship with thrush.
