Quick question about belly binding

If you're planning on using a belly binder, how soon after birth are you supposed to start using it? A few hours? A day? Longer?

TIA! :)

I put mine on the morning after I had my 3rd baby, I think? I wore it pretty much all the time for several months- only took it off for showers.  It was my first time trying one and I thought it was great.  It really held everything in so I didn't have that uncomfortable squishy, flopping-around feeling I had experienced before.  I looked more like I wanted to in clothes right away, and it helped my stomach go back to normal more quickly.

I didn't get my wraps until 2 days after birth, but I tried a piece of cloth tied at my side right after birth. It helped, but the fabric slipped and loosened too quickly. Now I'm wrapped up in two "waist trimmer" belts. I take them off to shower and now at night because they actually make my back hurt while I'm laying down. I definitely enjoy not feeling like I'm sagging to the floor. I would say to make sure you are supporting your uterus with the binding immediately PP. I think it helped my uterus contract much faster than any of my other births (every time I went to massage my uterus it was already hard as a rock. It never got that squishy feeling like my other births)
