Dear baby has had bouts of severe weeping eczema on face, and even tho the dermatologist said eczema is not related to diet at all, I suspect it could be worsened by certain foods because the eczema is around his mouth, and his eyelids have sometimes been red and allergy like. I've been keeping a food log (am exclusively breastfeeding), and am wondering if almonds could make eczema worse? I've eliminated all the obvious factors like wheat and dairy etc., but was eating raw almond butter. I really want to find him relief, but don't want to just wildly guess. Does anyone else have experience with an almond sensitivity?
Thankyou.

IME, as an allergic person (since birth), and as a mama of allergic babies, YES, almonds can be a trigger. Anything can cause an allergic reaction, and really the only thing you can do is an elimination diet to see if it gets better. I don't know what your dermatologist was thinking by saying that eczema isn't related to diet...maybe s/he isn't used to nursing moms, and thinks the baby can't react to what you eat?Â
