Welcome, AnnaDorothy!  Whearabouts in AZ??  We are in Tucson for the summer.

* Name: Belleweather
* EDD: Feb. 14, 2012

* Age: 33, I think. I seriously, legit lost count!
* Location: Minneapolis
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: 8 cycles since I had my IUD removed, 1 cycle after starting supplemental hormones. (Which sadly is the same thing that happened with my second kid, after 18 grueling months of infertility treatment to conceive #1. Ugh.)
* What number child is this for you: #3.
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): Husband, Nathan, and two boys, Elliot (5) and Rhys (3). I'm in desperate want of a cat, but I can't get one until we get around to buying a house. I may possibly want the cat more than the house.
* Birth plans/preferences: Hoping to deliver with the same midwife who delivered my eldest two (both born in a different city, so I'm psyched that she relocated here a year ago!), but whether that will be at a birth center or at home depends on insurance wrangling. I'm hoping for at home in our newly-purchased house, but we'll see if the stars align for that to happen.
* Anything else you'd like to share: Really hoping not to get SPD again this time, because that sucked like a noxious sucking thing. Any helpful hints would be gratefully appreciated.

post #106 of 253

Sweet!!!  I am totally enjoying the heat: Mom has AC and a pool LOL.  Her car AC is going out though.  I feel SO much sicker when I drive in the heat :p

* EDD: End of Feb

* Age: 32
* Location: Israel

Dora, I started a Jewish Mama's thread on here, if you are interested (all are welcome). My hubby is half Morrocain/half native Israeli (over 17 generations in Israel) and I am one of those "wandering Jews" with roots all over. Each generation hopped to a new country. I'm now "back home" in Israel. :) Mazel tov on your pregnancy. This may not be an issue for you, but we are raising our children in a bicultural/bilingual (well, it's more like trilingual or more...I was teaching the kids some French and ASL and asked my FIL to teach them Moroccani (which is very close to Arabic), but they are picking up Japanese, some Chinese and some Spanish as well) home so I'm happy to share what I know/ our experience.

* What number child is this for you: My first! I'm terrified! But excited!

* Family: My DH, we've been together for 5.5 years. And our doggie, Otis. Pictured :)

* Birth plans/preferences:To be honest, all this stuff is so new to me and I'm still figuring out what I want. I'm the first of my closest girlfriends to have a baby. Right now I'm thinking a certified nurse-midwife program at a hospital I respect (I work in the health field and know who's good and who's bad around here).

* Anything else you'd like to share: I'm finishing a graduate degree right now (public health), I will be done in December, I don't know how I'm going to focus on everything I need to get done by then!

Also,I mentioned on an earlier intro post that I'm Jewish and my husband is Jamaican. I'm really interested in other moms-to-be of biracial or inter-cultural children.

Name: Violet
* EDD: Feb 16 (based on my last period, the due date would be Feb 12th but I had an ultrasound two days ago to make sure the baby was there.  I had cramping that felt like tugs and small amount of bright red blood during an examination with the midwife.  Baby is there!  I saw the heartbeat!!  And the tech put the due date at Feb 16th based on the little babes size.  I haven't had any tugging cramps or bleeding since.  But I was told to TAKE IT EASY!  I am a work horse and it's hard for me to sit around.  I also have a very active six year old.

* Age: 34, will be 35 when baby is born.
* Location: California
* How long it took to you to get your BFP: Two cycles after Mirena IUD came out with a tampon.
* What number child is this for you: Second baby
* Family (partner, other children, and/or furbabies): Married for 11 years, six year old daughter, two dogs, two chickens
* Birth plans/preferences: Plan on having this baby at the local birth center where I had my daughter.  This time around though I have a wonderful doula, one of my neighbors who is a nurse and one of my favorite people.
* Anything else you'd like to share:  I've never felt like this before.  I am super calm.  I am not thinking or worrying, even with the bleeding.  During the examination, the midwife found a cyst on my cervix, a cervical lip (she asked if that could have been left over from my daughter's birth, but I can't remember), and a small tear on my cervic (could be from the IUD.)  But there is nothing I can do about anything except take it easy and have a good attitude.

I too am trying with everything I have to remain calm and stay POSITIVE. It's VERY hard, but I am trying. But....as I told my therapist that specializes with women who have suffered miscarriages.....this time around I am doing MUCH better with my anxiety, worry and stress than my last pregnancy, so that's a good/positive thing, right? Last time I was worried and anxious EVERY single day of my pregnancy....to some degree or another. I feared another loss so much.....and then it actually happened. But....there's nothing you can do one way or the other....if it's going to happen (my last one was because the baby's heart stopped beating at 10 w, 2 days) then there's NOTHING you can do to prevent it. So....I am giving it all I've got to not think about negative things and remain focused on the fact that EVENTUALLY I will be one of the 5 women (1 in 5 pregnant women has a miscarriage) that is safe and carries their baby full term! I know it. I feel it in my heart and in my bones. I can only hope that THIS WILL BE THAT TIME. This pregnancy I've noticed that I've only freaked out about one day a week....the rest of the week each week I am fine, so that's a much better quota and I feel ok with that. Getting through this first trimester is going to be the toughest thing I've ever done, but....I will get there.....only 6 more weeks to go!

We can do it Violet! I believe you can remain calm and positive like I am having to do! Keep up the good work! hug2.gif

Mountian Mama2Be:

Disclaimer!  A little while after I wrote this, I started crying and crawled back into bed.  My brain is turned off but I still have waves of emotion.  I am reading Eckhart Tolle's book "A New Earth" and the book is helping me deal with the human aspect of conception and motherhood.  I can't elaborate more than that because, like I said, my brain isn't really working.  I, too, am also trying to work with facts right now and not speculation.  There is a chance I could miscarry, there is a chance I won't.  The only fact I have about today and my pregnancy is that today I am ok and I am still pregant.  -Violet

Okay, I've been lurking for awhile (a long while) and nervous to actually post, because last time I was back a week later to remove myself from the DDC, but here I am...

Name: K

EDD: Feb 2nd

Age: 28/29

Location: Phoenix, AZ

How long it took to you to get your BFP:  I've only had random spotting since my D&C in February, so I guess the first cycle since then although it was a very weird, long cycle.

What number child is this for you: 6th pregnancy, hopefully 3rd take home baby.

Family: DH, DD 5 and DS 3, plus lots of fish and a cockatiel

Birth plans/preferences: Hospital

Anything else you'd like to share:  I'm nervous about this pregnancy, I just have to keep telling myself that there is only so much I can do, and that it's mostly out of my control.  What will be will be.  I was pregnant in December, we ended up seeing the heartbeat in January and felt pretty safe from there.  Our baby stopped growing at 10w 5d during my DD5's birthday party.  I of course didn't know it at the time but I had a dr's appt on 1/31, which is actually DD5's birthday.  The kids were with me when I found out the heart had stopped.  They saw the baby on the ultrasound and were so excited, but they didn't understand.  I knew right away when there was no movement.  It was horrible having to explain to them and I had to have my mom come and pick them up because I was a wreck.  I had the D&C on Feb 2nd, which is now my due date with this baby.  So it's all a little weird for me, I don't really know what to think about that except hope for the best.  That baby was a boy so I'm anxious to find out what this one is.  Anyway, hoping for sticky babies for all of us all around!!!

Welcome! I'm also cautiously optimistic about this pregnancy since we had a loss at 12 weeks back in November '09. We've had a baby since then, now almost 6 months old, but this pregnancy was also a complete surprise for us. We won't be telling family until we're closer to the second trimester mark, and even then, I'll be nervous until I start feeling this babe move. :-)
