It didn't help me (but I think I am an anomaly) but I also didn't have any side effects at all.  I guess most people see a difference in their supply in a few days and if not, you can up the dosage.  160mg/day is generally accepted as the max dosage.

I'm taking the max dosage. It does work for me, but my supply still isn't adequate. I'm supplementing 6 or so ounces a day.  The few times I've accidentally skipped dosages, my supply drops off pretty quickly. For that reason, I feel like dom is the only thing propping up my milk supply right now.  Also, I can't lose weight for the life of me.  It does make me hungrier, but even when I'm counting calories, I can't lose.  I take 40 mg 4 times a day.

thank you both for your replies. i really hope this works DD is getting more frustrated ever day and it kills me not to be able to do anything about it. We have always given her bottles sometimes formula but usually pumped breast milk only 4 to 8 ounces a day a morning and evening feeding with her father so they could bond. she can tell the difference between breast milk and formula and will often refuse formula. the last couple of weeks have been extremely hard on all of us she's barely getting 2 ounces  (both breast) when she feeds but will still refuse formula crying until she exhaust herself and only then taking the supplement bottle. i'm only on 60mg but i take comfort in knowing if this doesn't work it might be as simple as raising my dose

From what I've read, the min suggested dose is 90 mg.  Dr. Jack Newman says you should start by taking 30 mg/3x a day. Google him for info.  And good luck!

With my twins I was taking 120mg/day (4 pills 3x a day)

It did nothing for my supply issues even when pumping every 2-3 hours. I guess I was just one of those women it doesn't work for.

There's lots of great information about starting and using domperidone on Dr. Jack Newman's site and a whole section on getting more breastmilk into babies with techniques such as breast compressions.
But can you tell us a bit more about why you're supplementing? Is your DD not gaining weight well? How old is she? If you really do need to supplement, you could consider using an at-the-breast supplementer such as a Medela SNS. There are lots of ways for dads to bond with babies without bottle feeding!
