Does anyone know if/where I can get a chicken coop B&M in the metrowest area? Â I'm looking on CL and some on line sites. Â We're not up for building one ourselves, but don't want to spend the cost of a shed, either.
Thanks!

Want an easy coop AND be able to recycle?  Get a cheap Little Tikes plastic playhouse off of craigs list. That is what we use for our chickens. I put some spray foam in the holes at the corner junctions and silicone caulking across the top juncture of the roof. Spray painted over the foam to keep the chickies from pecking at it.  I took a long, thin board and placed it from window to window and screwed it onto the window sill for their roost. A wooden box is their nesting box. I did install bricks on the floor (no mortar, just bricks packed in tightly) because otherwise the ground gets damp. Over the winter I duct taped the shutters closed to keep away the draft. The back window that does not have shutters has a piece of plywood permanently attached to it (plywood is also painted for aesthetics.)Â

We have six large fowl and two banties. Get winter hardy breeds and make sure the run that they are in is completely predator proof, including from the top. If you haven't already, check out www.backyardchickens.com
