My older DD is 29 months old and she has been lashing out at her little sister who is 14 months old. She pushes, hits (with hands and objects) and pinches and runs away smiling no matter what our response is. We don't do much tv and hardly any movies. She's not in daycare seeing other kids do it. There is no violence in out home. I try to keep my DH and I on the 'gentle discipline' track but we do raise voices at times and we do use time outs if she gets relentless with her sister and they need separation but she won't stay away. Nothing seems to work though. I'm fine being patient with other behaviors like messes and not listening and other lovely two-year-old-isms like "I don't HAVE to!!" But I can't jeopardize the safety of the little one. I don't know anyone with kids this close in age and I feel like I'm at my wit's end. She's a very socially aware little gal who is vey sensitive to everything and everyone except her little sister. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
