new to N. Seattle: playdates?

Hi!

We just recently moved to North Seattle (Wedgwood, to be specific) last month, and I'm reaching out to try and meet other mamas around the area for playdates or walks, and eventually/possibly swapping child-care now and then. 

We have a sitter who is a college student but it's tough to book her for mornings sometimes when I wish I could get to a yoga class. So if playdates go well, I would love to talk about possibly swapping childcare for an hour or two per week, here and there. 

A little more about us: Our son is almost 18 months old. We moved across the country from Vermont to Seattle just one year ago, so we're still getting acquainted with the city in general, and now learning our new neighborhood too. I'm 31, and we have a dog that's like our other child. We're into music, art, natural parenting, eating local/organic, playing outside, gardening, reading books, AP... I could go on... I felt funny about posting an ad for this, but feel much better about connecting via Mothering rather than Craigslist!

Hi Katie,

Welcome to NE Seattle.  We live in Sandpoint, so really close to you.  My son is almost 14 months, and we too, have another furry child :) I'm in grad school, so swapping childcare is probably out, but let me know if you'd like to go for an afternoon walk or something--maybe Magnuson off-leash park/playground?  I'd love to make more "mom friends."

I live in Greenwood and would love to get together! My daughter is 2 and loves other kids. Also, on meetup.com there is a great AP group.
