Summer IVF Thread - Let the Sun shine through all of usl!!! - Page 27

blue - I'm so sorry! I was hoping so hard for you!  Do you know if you will try again?  Do you have any more totsicles?

april - I was a slow responder as well, but don't worry, they'll figure out your magic number.  They start you on a generic dose and then adjust as needed.  My first cycle, they adjusted me 3 times and we still got a BFP.  Second cycle, they only had to adjust me once cause they could use first cycle as a starting point.  You've got time!

Renavoo - Good luck today!  I'm a big believer in acupuncture too and get it done each cycle too

Thanks to all of you for your kind posts!!!! There are way too many of you to name right now!!!

Kewpie - Nope, we don't have any frozen at all.  We were lucky to get just that one to transfer it seemed this cycle b/c they waited too long I think and the dr said so himself.

AFM - I have a follow up phone conference next thurs the 18th to see what the next plan might be (not sure what we are going to do now b/c this last time was suppose to be our last shot b/c we thought we would be able to try another FET if this 2nd fresh one didn't work), but I tried to change the appt. b/c we will have my aunt and uncle staying with us from out of town that day so I'm not sure how the whole thing will work.  I was going to drive to DH work (30 mins away) and we were going to do the phone conference there on my cell phone, so he could be a part and not have to leave work to do it, but i hate to leave my aunt and uncle while they are here to visit for like 2hrs.  So i tried to change it, but for some reason he is off all this time (i hope all is okay with him & his family) and the next available appt. isn't until Sept 8th.  I really don't want to wait that long to talk to him to see what he thinks.  I want to know sooner what his thoughts are on the whole thing and then have time to make a decision.  If we would do another one, it probably wouldn't be until Oct, but we really were going to be done after this last one so I just don't know if we will do it or not.  We will see.

Oh and AF is here!!!!!  How could I forget!!

Renavoo- how did the ET go???  Did you get to go home finally???  I sure hope all went well and that you are now resting in your own bed.  Keep us posted!!

Hi everyone!

Blue, I'm so sorry. I hope that you guys get more clarity after the phone call. Do your Aunt and Uncle know what is happening? If so, I feel like they would probably be ok with you stepping away for the call. You should ask your doctor's office if they have call conferencing capabilities! DH and I had to do that for our initial call because he had to go to a work function. They conferenced us both in so we were both able to participate. I hope your office has that capability. I can't imagine that they wouldn't, since they are a doctor's office!! I hope it works out.

Ok ET done and I'm home!!! Yah! So, today, only 5 embryos survived. Sniff. They are waiting to see if the other three would survive freezing so they said they will let me know by Friday. I transferred 2 and they were "good quality" according to the doctor. 1BA and 2AB. it is so odd because everyone has a different rating system! It just makes things so much more difficult. I think one of my embryos was hatching though because I saw a little budding action. ;o) doctor says I have a 50-60% chance of getting pregnant. Please grow! I got my 2 sessions of acupuncture in so that was nice and relaxing. I did find it odd though that they let us go to the bathroom 5 minutes after the transfer. I guess it is because they know people need to go since we walked in with full bladders. But I didn't want to get up that quickly so I stayed lying down for 15 minutes. By the way, what an awkward session! I expected a nurse and the doctor. There were 2 nurses, the doctor and the embryologist hanging around while I was in my nice awkward position. Haha. Oh well, it is over and now it is time for my 2ww. By the wa, I'm being tested on Aug 23rd...they wait 13 days after transfer which I thought was odd. Isn't it usually 14 days after retrieval?

By the way, the clinic was cute. They gave.me an ultrasound image of the catheter going in. And then, they gave me a little card with the images of our 2 embryos. We named them Hatcheroo (obviously for the one that is hatching) and the other one we named Phoenix (it has a little growing to do.) hahah I know. DH and I are so corny!

redface.gif) back to bed rest. I can't stand lying in bed all day but at least I'm home!! Hope everyone is doing well

Blue, I hate this :(  I don't understand why this process has to be so hard.  You are still in my prayers!!

Renavoo, I hope the wait isn't torture for you. I love your embie names!

Blue, there is NO way I could wait till September for a follow up consult!  I hope they are able to provide you with some answers to help guide you in your decision to try/not try again (of course I hope you decide to try again!).  If August isn't my month, we will be trying again in October too.

Renavoo, I like that you named the embies.  I wish I knew which of my 2 fresh embies made my DD.  The embriologist said they would have chose the one that was just a hair behind if I only wanted to transfer one.  So I always wonder which it was!?!

Aura, hoping for a BFP soon!

Kewpie, glad to see that ticker moving!  I can't believe it's already been almost 16 weeks!

Blue-I wouldnt want to wait until sept and it would be nice if they gave you a discounted cycle since tney knew it was there fault!!!!!

Renavoo-goodluck and I hope tne 2ww goes by quickly!!

Aura- praying for ur bfp!!

AFM- My stomach is still huge the RE has instructed me to weigh myself every morning and measure my stomach. If I take on anymore fluid in my stomach I will be in the hospital greensad.gif I have another beta and an appt to check fluid levels tomorrow!! Im hoping for good news on both. The nurse said my hcg level really needs to be above 100 or it doesnt look promising... Im praying for a miracle innocent.gif I will update you all.

Kewpie- wonderful your at 16 weeks joy.gif

Bugalowmama- I hope you are doing well and taking it easy!!!

Blue - That sucks sucks sucks! I'm hoping they can fit you in sooner.  Would he be willing to do an email consult?  That must be so tough being so far away!  Everytime DH complains about our 40 minute drive, I remind him of you and the other ladies who drive hours and that some stay in hotels during the whole thing.  He always says, "yeah, we have it really good."

Renavoo - It seems that each clinic is different for the betas.  Mine does the first one at 14 days after transfer (my transfers always seem to end up falling on a saturday, so I usually end up waiting till the following monday) which is really long compared to what most do it seems.  I love you embie names!  Cute! Stick stick stick babies!

Belly and lyndi - Yeah, I'm almost there.  36 weeks is full term for twins and they won't let me go past 38 weeks, so I'm only 2-3 weeks from being halfbaked.  I've got a lot of jumbled emotions.  I know nothing is guaranteed, even if I make it to the end, and that's constantly in the back of my mind. --all the "what-ifs..."  I always thought the tough part of IF was getting pregnant, but I'm actually more scared/anxious now than before.  Loss does that as I'm sure both of you know all too well.  (hugs) to you both and I've got so much hope for you! (and everyone else, of course!)

Kewpie - I don't think he does email consults and that might be kinda hard, maybe, I don't know.  I know he doesn't get paid for these consults anyways so I'm sure it wouldn't matter either way. Who knows. It might all work out for next thurs. we will see.

Lyndi - praying for you and your little bean!!! I sure hope you start to feel better and that the fluid starts to go down. Did they tell you to eat a lot of protein and drink gatorade? I've always heard that that is good for OHSS, but i'm sure they told you what to do.  So glad to hear that your numbers tripled!!  Thank God!!!joy.gif How were you fluid levels?

Belly - Lets just hope that you and I won't be cycle buddies in Oct b/c I think this will be your month!!!! I love having a cycle buddy, but I'd rather have you get pregnant this month!!!  Fingers crossed for you for sure!!!!

Inwaiting - thanks!!! How are you feeling? Can I add you to the BFP list now? What is next for you? More betas or are you done? U/S next???

Renavoo - yes, my aunt and uncle know what is going on.  I'm sure they would be fine with me leaving if I had to, but I know my aunt is all about spending time with her family which is the reason why they are stopping here before they go to my parents house which we will also be going to this weekend to spend the weekend there with all of them, so it isn't like we won't get to see them, but i know she likes all of the one on one time she can get b/c we don't see each other much and she is my favorite aunt.  I figure that either I'll just go to DH work or I'll just have her sit in on the conversation w/o DH and then we will relay what he had to say.  DH is fine with whatever he said.  He doesn't think the whole 2 speaker phone thing will work.  I just would like him listen in, but if not then she can help me explain it to him for sure.  It is just nice to have an extra set of ears.  The conference call thing is a good idea, but he is at a branch office that day, not the main head office, so I'm not sure if they would have it there since it is a smaller satellite office kinda in another office.

tl;dr

paragraphs would help.

I saw the RE today and he said it looks like my uterus is empty (ultrasound), so after I have a natural cycle we can try again. I'm thinking October for a FET. For some odd reason I have a strong feeling that the snowbaby is a girl. Weird.

Super annoying: they took me into the ultrasound room right away and I had to wait for half an hour in an air conditioned room with no pants on (brr). And after all that, he didn't use the probe, he did the ultrasound on my belly instead, so there was no reason for me to wear a paper sheet after all. FFS. I don't get why they do that - I was comfy and happy in the waiting room with the newspaper, by the time the RE came in the exam room I was super irritated and freezing cold. Anyway. Stupid thing to be annoyed about but still...

Aura- I am so sorry.

Laggie- sorry again. Did the m/c happen naturally ?

Lfpalmer - what exactly are you trying to tell us? We aren't infertile? We just need to eat better? That the horemones that we are taking are screwing up our bodies?
