My husband and I have been contemplating a move to Greenville, SC for some time now. While we're taking several things into consideration (and so far, we pretty much favor Greenville), the main thing (for me) is this:

What kind of medical care is available for high risk pregnancies? What are the hospitals like? (do they generally allow VBACs? Are there nurse-midwives at any of them?)

I have a history of high risk pregnancies. I have IC, which we didn't know with our first (which was a preterm loss at 5.5 months). I've had 2 miscarriages, and one "successful" full term pregnancy (which was only successful because of an "urgent" cerclage). I am currently 25 weeks pregnant (had a cerclage placed at 14 weeks this time around, doing fine so far) and am under the care of the Vanderbilt Nurse-Midwives here in Nashville.

We don't have plans to move before this baby arrives, but as we would like to have at least one more child after this one, I just would like to know if anyone has any "insider" information on how the health care community is equipped for thing like cerclage, IC, and possible very early preemie birth (how well could a hospital support a 3 month preemie baby?).

Thanks so much for any input anyone can give me!
