question - temp taken after being awake for two hours/stressed - no good?

Hi all,

So I was up at 3:45 a.m., taking my dog to emergency vet (he is having some serious health issues). In my rush to get dog to hospital, I didn't take my temp. Home two hours later, took temp, was 99. I have my ovulation spike two days ago, and have been at 98.2 for two days. I'm really hoping this cycle is going to work, and am super bummed that my temps are off now. Thanks!

first off, my condolences on your sick pet. hug2.gif we lost our fur baby yestersday suddenly, and it has been very upsetting.

like you i was up at 3 am, with a dog howling in pain.. i took my temp after coming home and sleeping for an hour and it was withign the normal range.

id say since you did take it after some sleep, and you were stressed it is ok to use since you are AFTER your temp shift.

good luck to you, and your furry friend.

I would say mark it as a disturbed temperature, but you can leave it in your chart.  Some disturbed temperatures are to be expected.  It doesn't sound like it will change anything for you since you're TTC.

Agreed, just mark the time you took the temp and what had happened that night on your chart so that you can reference this information later on if necessary.  Otherwise an unusually high temp already into your LP while TTC will certainly not mess anything up as far as interpretation.

Thank you all so much! I was back down to 98.2 today, after a good solid six hours of sleep. I am getting a bit excited, because usually I drop back down to low 97's on day 3 after my rise.
