Anyone use sheepskin car seat liner or mat for naps etc.?

So funny that there is a hating car seat post now.. .that is my problem too!  DS screams and screams - hates it.

I have noticed that DS seems to get really really hot/sweaty and somewhere I saw the sheepskin/lambswool idea.

Has anyone used it in a car seat and did it help keep baby cool and maybe actually tolerate the seat?

Where did you purchase it?

While I am thinking about it, did anyone use them for naps?  under or over a sheet?  did it help baby fall asleep and/or stay asleep when laid down.  What about safety and SIDS etc.?

Thanks!

I am sorry your LO doesn't like his car seat, but it is never safe to put anything that didn't come with the carseat between the carseat and the child. I would be hesitant to use a lambskin with a very small baby who was not yet rolling over.

We have a sheepskin liner in our stroller and it is gorgeous. Soft and cushy and delicious.

We have a cot-sized sheepskin underlay that we used to use for naps sometimes (not when she was tiny) but it is sort of scratchy, not nearly as nice as the pram one, so I covered it with a wrap first. It was ok but not great and we stopped using it pretty quickly.

ITA with a PP.  It is never, ever safe to use anything in the carseat that didn't COME with the carseat originally.  This includes head supports, strap covers, ect...  It just isn't safe and can cause severe injury or death in the even of a crash.

We used a sheepskin for a long time with DS1 for naps and at nights.  He slept swaddled on his back, so I was never worried about it.  It was magical or anything for his sleeping, I just liked it and he seemed to and it was something easy that we could take with us when we traveled.

Thanks Jayray.  I know some people talk about how much they love their sheep skin but I was not sure how they use it.

Related to carseat issues I was hoping to find a product testing for crash neutrality (can't remember the actual term).  There are testing standards related to a product being tested with car seats or in cars in general for crash behavior.  I had not really started looking to see if their was such a thing yet but really wanted to know if sheepskin actually help at all with the heat factor - something that might also help in a stroller was on my mind.

OP, what kind of caraway do you use? LO used to hate the bucket, screamed bloody murder every time he went in or out. Loves the convertible, nary a peep.
