Belladonna and fevers

Ds has had a cough and has a slight fever.  When he gets a fever it  usually gets really high-106 at times.  So I have belladonna but not sure at what point I start using it?  His fever is very low now and I wish I had some ferrum phos but ran out.  Any tips on the belladonna would be appreciated-he is 4.5 yrs old.

Assuming you're talking about homeopathic remedies.  I've used Belladonna before but only if my dd's symptoms match that of Belladonna.  I've also used Aconite and chamomilla.  I usually start my remedies at first sign and stop when I see a change.

Have you ever checked out the website abchomeopathy?  That might have the info you're looking for.

I hope your ds feels better soon.

Luckily, we did not need to use anything.  His fever never got higher than 102. I guess my question is do you wait until the fever gets over a certain point to use the belladonna since it says for high fevers?

I like to give the fever a chance to do it's job, but I will give belladonna if it fits symptoms - like very red hot cheeks - generally I let the fever run it's course during the day and then give it at night if child is so miserable they can't sleep.

From what I understand, for acute symptoms such as fever you could or couldn't use homeopathy.  I allow my dd's body to do its job before I jump in with some sort of remedy.  I've read that you should start using a homeopathic remedy at early signs of onset for the best results.  So, whether you should or whether its as effective to use a remedy past a certain degree of fever , I'm not sure.  That abchomeopathy website might be able to answer that for you.

Sorry I couldn't give you an exact answer.

I might have tried chamomilla first and them if it persists or gets higher, I would give belladonna.
