Help me choose some good soft shoes

I'm looking for some soft shoes that are sandal style since it's hot but there are times DD needs something on her feet.

She seems to need size 4 or 4.5. The kicker is that she has REALLY chunky feet, particularly in the instep. In other words, her feet are tall! ;)

I can't stand robeez because pulling them on her feet is so very hard. I'd love something with a velcro closure to make it easier. Tried pedipeds, but they were too short in the instep.

Other ideas?

Thanks!

I would start by having her foot measured. You can go to a kid shoe store without having to buy anything.  I thought E was around a 4, turns out she's still a 3.

I saw a soft shoe on etsy.com that was homemade, soft bottom but enough to protect, and then basically laces for the tops.  I'll see if H kept the link to it.

Is W walking yet? We took E to a really well known awesome kid shoe store last week looking for the same thing and they wouldn't let us buy anything! They said that until she's taking at least two steps in a row, under her own power, she really shouldn't have any shoe.  Now, I know that doesn't help with standing and cruising along outside when the ground is hot or rocky, so we're still left looking for ideas for E.

You might look for Pazitos, Primigi, oh, H says the etsy one is a shop called Bobka Baby, she has some with laces that should be easily moved around high instep!

If you find anything awesome, do share!

Wicked cute!

I've thought of a shoe store, but I figured we'd get the same response. I know we're not supposed to get "real shoes" yet, because she's also not really walking except a few steps here and there. But I thought super soft leather-type shoes were fine....that's the genre I'm thinking of (like those on the link), though I'm really looking for something with even more open-ness. I just might try the etsy ones, though....(although I'll admit that having something returnable has been good as I've been in the search).

I'll let you know what I find!

We love See Kai Run. We go shoe-less inside because it's better for the feet, but Daniel's little toes get scraped up by crawling outside or on rough pavement. He's also cruising so he needs something on his feet if he's not in my house because I just not comfortable with him walking on any old surface barefoot. See Kai Run makes a "smaller" line that has soft suede bottoms as well as their regular sandals which are amazing. I just bought these for Daniel: http://www.seekairun.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=PATRICK. They seem quite large in the ankles, so large that I have a little trouble with my skinny boys ankles, so they might be perfect for yours.

I'd try the SKR smaller line too, DS2 has fat little meatball feet and they work. So do the Umi Puggles I have but those soles are a bit more structured (still leather but less flexible)

We love SKR Smaller!

We just bought some Robeez Breezeez, which bill themselves as water shoes.  Ordered them online yesterday and they arrived today, so far I'm pleased. They're light, velcro strap and adjustable, and they'll be perfect for playing in the water at the park or the hot sand/poolside.  I think they would be light and not too hot to wear in situations W might need them.  We ordered from diapers.com, I think they have easy returns if you don't like the shoes, and there are always deals for first time customers as well.  They were $16.  Haven't tried them on E yet as she's in bed.. but I will tomorrow and let you know what she thinks!

I'd also recommend See Kai Run Smaller for chunky feet. My DD actually has very narrow feet and they are rather wide on her - both width and height. I never knew until my 2nd son that "wide" feet actually means "tall" feet in babies! lol.gif Both my 2nd and 3rd DSs had/have "wide" feet and the SKR Smallers work great for them, too. And they're SUPER cute! Oh! They also are having daily specials with 50% off a certain pair, each, of girls' and boys'. thumb.gif

The breezeez look good. Though, are they made from material that will ultimately make for really hot feet? I'd love any insight, as I can only find one "view" online.

Thanks, too, for the feedback on SKR. I LOVE their shoes, though I'll admit I don't love any of the smaller sandals right now. I'm so glad they work for wide/tall (hilarious, that distinction!) feet, as that fits DD to a T!

I'll let you know about the breezeez and heat.. Esther is a sweaty baby, so if anyone will clearly show being hot in them, she would! However, since its cold and rainy here we haven't had any reason to wear them yet!
