First PAP after birth

Hi Everybody:

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Just wondering I had my first  baby 7 weeks ago. Loving being a mother. :) 6 days ago I had a PAP test and exam at my 6 weeks appointment. All went well. I noticed today some very faint pink when I wipe. Very light. I'm breastfeeding exclusively so this probably isn't my period coming, right? Is it possible that it is because of the exam? (it was more tender than usual when the doctor did the exam, which she said was normal) Anybody have thoughts on this? I really hope it isn't my period because I was hoping that would stay away for a while!

My guess is it's probably the pap. I keep being told pregnancy makes your cervix extremely vascular (I've had spotting throughout this pregnancy, most recently from--wait for it, WALKING a lot *gasp*). I don't know how long it takes for that to subside, but I'd go with pap disturbing your cervix as a first guess.

Your period can return at any time, though, even with breastfeeding on demand and cosleeping. Mine came back at 6 weeks pp. eyesroll.gif

I was feeling grumpy today since I figure I'm one of those people who get their period even with breastfeeding and all that. (but if this is a period at least I haven't had cramps) Thought a bonus from the sometimes constant breastfeeding would be no period. But I guess the real "bonus" is my beautiful baby, so I shouldn't complain!

hug2.gifYou're in good company. There are lots of us for whom AF comes right back despite constant BFing. But it sucks--I agree!
