DS was diagnosed with Hydrocele at birth and I was hoping to wait it out and see if it corrected itself by his first birthday. Even though it looked fine in the flashlight test, the ped was a little worried and sent us to a urologist at Children's Hospital (Los Angeles) last month for an ultrasound. The urologist saw something "disturbing" and asked us to get another ultrasound of the bladder & kidneys last week.

At that appt (on his 5 month bday) he was diagnosed with Abdominal Scrotal Hydrocele on both sides, which is apparently very rare. Has anyone else's son been diagnosed with this? We have a follow up with the head of urology in a couple weeks but I was told they want to schedule surgery to correct it ASAP and they will do each side separately (so two surgeries).

Just wondering if anyone else had to get both sides done and how old their DS was when they did it. Any helpful surgery or healing tidbits you can share with me?
