Hi everyone,
We moved to the Frisco/Plano area from Austin a year and a half ago, and we want to switch doctors. My three year old is uncircumsized, and so far we have not had any problems or anyone trying to retract his foreskin, but I'm still worried it could happen. When will I stop needing to worry mamas? Anyway, additionally, my 16 month old daughter has a labial adhesion that their doctor prescribed estrogen cream for that we didn't use (after doing our research and talking to a doctor I trust - though he's not a pedi or family practice or gp) because she hasn't had any UTIs or problems, and we figure it will resolve on its own in a while when she starts making her own estrogen. Of course, if she does start having UTIs or some other recurrent problem due to the adhesion, then we may use that cream. Wow lots of unnecessary back story. My kids are mostly vaxed, so that really isn't a problem, though I do extend breastfeed, but have no problem if the doctor doesn't go for that. Basically, I just want a doctor that won't forcibly retract my son's penis, and who doesn't think every little thing needs fixing or a prescription (though I am not against antibiotics if they have a bacterial infection). Of the friends we have here, one takes her intact baby to Dr. Eastman in Plano who I've known for a long time (he was actually my pedi), but I don't know if he retracts. you know? I figure that some doctors don't do it to babies, but at some age they will, and I'm just worried they will do it to my kid. I don't know. My husband is circ'd so neither of us is really sure when a kid's foreskin will retract, or how, or do we even need to concern ourselves with knowing. We've never really examined his penis, and I don't really think we need to. I like to think that benign neglect is the best way to go about it, and that if there was some problem, our child would tell us about it. well...when he's this young anyway.

LONG STORY SHORT:

Can you recommend any doctors in Plano or Frisco who are familiar with intact penises and won't forcibly retract one?

PS I don't think I've ever posted quite so much about a penis before.
