Does anyone have any feedback on this program?

Thanks!

Yes, I love it!

Just returned from the year one skills seminar, and I am almost done with my 1st year!

I have learned so much at IHM!

The instructors are incredible, program vigorous and well organized. I love the structure of IHM.

I feel like it is the best value, of my training that I have experienced thus far.

All the best!

So, mariposa77, can I ask you how IHM is specifically with little ones? I read that there are 2, 3-hour live web classes each week. I'd love to hear from another mother of small children how you manage to make time for that--and how, in general you are able to balance family with such an intensive program. I only have 1 daughter--1 1/2 years old. But I also work part time--at least for now. IHM's program by far looks the best of the distance programs I have seen, but also the most time intensive and deadline oriented. Are you planning on becoming a CPM afterward? I assume you'll have to do PEP since it IHM isn't MEAC accredited, right? What other trainings have you experienced? I know that was a bunch of questions. Mostly I want to know how IHM works with your mommy life! lol You can PM me if you wish to answer more privately. I'm sure you are very busy, but I'd appreciate any feedback you have time for! THanks!

So IHM is fast paced, learning midwifery in 2 years, as we know there is so much to learn and definitely not a light subject!

However, I believe that you don't have to finish in 2 years, although my goal is to (I've been studying midwifery for 7 years so far). I am doing the PEP process, as I don't think they will be MEAC accredited by the time I am finished.

The webinars are like going to a class, but in home. Which is great, because you can mute yourself, if your kids or family is around. If you have a laptop, you can go in one area, and let your child play while you are in school. Sometimes, I review the power point slides, as I miss some info due to my baby, etc. So I make it work, you know!

The teachers are very nice midwives too.

Anyways I love it, and I feel its the best midwifery educational value so far that I have experienced!

Wish you all the best!

Is anyone else attending this school? I'm seriously considering it and would love to hear from others who have enrolled.
