Hi everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been a lurker for a few weeks now and just joined a couple of days ago. I'm excited to join this forum since it's more up my ally then another forum I am apart of. (ie green living and seems more open minded)

A little bit about myself...

I'm 24, married last October and expecting our first this July/August. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant with a little girl. I live in quaint, small town in Minnesota, but as you can see I prefer to claim Rivendell. =D I'm a LOTR nerd through and through, I can't wait to share the awesomeness of it with my little girl.

I was working as a part time bank teller but last week after an emergency doctor appt (it wasn't scheduled and I was having weird pains and discharge) my doctor took me out of work so I could stay home and chill before baby arrives. Not necessarily "bed rest" in the typical sense but bed rest as in taking it easy, watching what I do, etc etc. I am planning to be a stay at home and it's always what I wanted to do. My husband works as a soil consultant for a local family owned business. We try to live as self-sufficiently as possible at the moment. We have a HUGE garden and one day would love to have a wee little homestead where we can get some livestock.

My mind set this whole pregnancy was to be as natural as I could be. I'm still learning and maybe to some have failed but I feel I've done right by my little girl. I was planning on a home birth with a midwife but I couldn't find a MW that was close until AFTER I found a doctor. I live about 2 hours north of the Twin Cities and I could not for the life of me find a MW any closer than that. I love my doctor though and she is a total advocate for natural birth and all the things I want to do really (delay cord clamping, immediately breastfeed, no drugs, etcetc). I am thankful she's so open because I feel I had to sacrifice a dream but I'm at peace with that. I am hoping for a water birth but we'll see if that's even something I want once the day arrives.

I can't really think of anything else, that gives you a brief outline of where I'm coming from. =D Feel free to ask any questions! I'm looking forward to finding a home here!
