7th Birthday?

I am a little late but I thought I would ask about special traditions/ ideas in Waldorf circles for the 7th birthday. My sweet boy will turn 7 this weekend and we are planning a little gathering of friends on an island, but trying to decide what to do with him when it's just family...

Happy Birthday to your little boy!  Mine just turned 7 last month!  

I just had my family over, which is actually DH's family b/c well, my family sucks.  

But anyways, it was nice, just his bros and sis and parents and all the cousins.   We BBQ'd and had a fire, sang Happy Birthday and opened gifts.  Planned on smores but it was chilly.   I had fun, and I think the rest of the family did too.
