Cuddling and temps

Most of the time we cuddle to some extent, especially in the mornings. I've found this effects my temps a lot, and I'm not really sure how to handle my temps when we aren't cuddling (since cuddling is the norm). This morning for example I took my first temp at 6 (I actually woke up with a thermometer beeping in my mouth but I don't remember putting it there), and an hour later after curling up my dh  it was a half a degree higher. What do you all do?

Taking your temp while asleep and taking your temp half an hour later after being semi-awake for a bit can definitely give you a large difference regardless of cuddling.  I have retaken my temp directly after the first temp taking without changing my position or  anything and it's always higher.  This is not accurate.  Every minute you're awake your temp is going to get slightly higher until it reaches your full awake temp.  To get consistent temps you need to try and do it the same way each day- so around the same time and after the same amount of time being awake (whether this is right after you wake or a few minutes later).   If it  were me, I would suggest waking, taking your temp immediately (don't fall asleep b/c if your mouth opens or the thermometer slips out from under your tongue you're not going to get an accurate result either), and then cuddling.  If falling asleep while temping is a common occurrence then I would suggest taking your temp vaginally.  You can use the same thermometer- just slip it in and no worries if you fall asleep.
