does anybody have any good tips for getting rid of cradle cap naturally? I've been greasing her head up with good quality olive or coconut oil and then bathing her a couple of hours later (no soap...)
stubborn stuff!

My DD #1 had the WORST cradle cap. Have you tried the fine tooth comb? I did vitamin E oil and the comb and that got a lot out but she HATED it. Now she has a full head of hair and is 4 years old... and, honestly, when I inspect her scalp, I do see some stubborn remnants! I know that's not really helpful, but it really doesn't seem to have hindered her hair growth or anything else. I do remember being frustrated by it, but it doesn't bother the babies. Massaging her head did seem to help too. Good luck! Chances are your babe will grow hair to cover it soon!
Yeah all we do is oil and comb. She has a very mild case of it and even at 9 months its still there. So about every 2 weeks we do a good oil soak and comb through. Sadly I would like to say it will go away but if she ends up like me she will have it the rest of her life. I have to do mine every few months.Â
I used Olive oil and a fine tooth comb when my son was 4 months old and it never came back (13 months now). The only thing was that a lot of the hair on top fell out afterward and he looked a little funny for a while (still does look like he has a slight case of male pattern baldness!). I'm not sure why it happened as I was very gentle and his scalp wasn't really red or anything. Just something to think about it you have a girl:)
I bought Neem therapy children's soap in the bar form and used it every once in a while (he took baths 1-2 a week, sometimes less) and it cleared up his cradle cap very quickly, and I brushed the dead skin away with a soap-bristled brush. It is not advertised to do this but it worked great for me
My dd had the worst case of it!! She is turning 6 soon and you can still see a little bit of it!!

I guess being diligent with it is one of the best things that you can do..Â

What worked best for me/her was olive oil over night.. and then just sitting there and combing it all out.
I remember doing it a couple times,, thinking it was all out,, and then a couple of weeks later it seemed like I hadn't done anything!!
Very frustrating!! Luckily she was/is very patient and would sit there and let me do it,, sometimes for 2-3 hours!

I do agree that it can be in extreme cases possibly linked to eczema,, my daughter suffers from that as well and I do think it's related.
