a good, kind Dr off Commercial Drive, Vancouver please?

We've literally just emigrated to Vancouver Commercila Drive area in the last 48 hours (!!) & are desperately looking for 

Doctor recommendations for a good, kind, sympathetic Doctor in the area.

I have a hubby and two 3 1/2 year old children with no known problems although I am Type One diabetic - well controlled for 32 years...

Can anyone help please?!

I have a friend who loves Dr. Sunshine. Finding a good family doctor in Vancouver is challenging, especially if you don't vax. Not many seem to be taking new patients...

Welcome to Vancouver. My first recommendation would be Mid Main Medical clinic, but they usually have a lengthy wait list. Here is a listing of docs in BC accepting new patients. You can narrow the search to whatever criteria you require.

Check out the doctors at the clinic on Slocan and Hastings. I've been with Dr McMoran and Dr Ravaghi, both are great.

I'm not sure if it's the right thing for yourself, but I see a nurse practitioner for my 2-year-old (and myself too). So much better than a doctor! I've never had an appointment last less than 30 minutes, and they are usually more like 45. She can refer you to specialists and prescribe medication and diagnose, like a doctor. We've had troubles finding a family doctor accepting patients, so this was a good fit for us for now. 

The one I see works out of Britannia sometimes, so that's off the Drive. I'd go to the Vancouver Coastal Health offices (or call them) on Broadway (off Commercial) and ask their advice too. The nurses there are all so nice. That's where I heard of our nurse-practitioner.

Hi KayPea - this looks like a great idea - certainly for the children & my hubby.

I wonder if I'd need a doctor for my diabetes though..? I'll go to the Vancouver Coastal Health office & ask their advice...
